NFL Merch Production Artist
Supports the Design Team to create artwork for league approval that is print ready, utilizing the trademarks of licensed sports, media and entertainment brands to be marketed on apparel and other products produced domestic and internationally.
Responsibilities
• Creates and produces quality production artwork as assigned. Modifies artwork as needed (i.e. re-colors, reductions, conversions) and obtains elements for use in the completion of artwork.
• Maintains internal system (FMS) artwork tracking system to ensure system follows stages of art through production processes.
• Checks and approves color comps, separations, and application art for appropriate trademarks, colors, and team logos. Expedites art flow by inspecting art separations for spelling, ink colors, logos, and correct screen printing structure.
• Maintains an understanding of screen printing processes, applications, and import production.
• Evaluates imported production for compliance by comparing art construction to vendor capabilities, restrictions, and cost variance to original concept. Coordinates with screen printing to review product strike-offs for approval.
• Ensures graphics are set up in the most efficient way for full scale out, providing documented direction for future production artist.
• Prepares art files for overseas factories and notifies the Development Team on release timing.
• Maintains production goals as delegated by the Production Art Supervisor.
• Works closely with development team to ensure design intent is carried through to final product.
Minimum Requirements
• Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field
• At least one year of professional experience
• Must have intermediate level experience with Adobe Illustrator Photoshop, and Indesign
• Functional computer skills and familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Understanding fonts, typefaces, composition, and color theory
• Graphic and font replication experience needed to maintain aesthetic for licensed business groups
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrate some apparel embellishment knowledge
• Ability to thrive and deliver results in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Works well collaboratively with a team as well as individually; open to new ideas
• Ability to gain the trust with coworkers
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot with/without oversight
• Familiarity with Pantone Matching System a plus
• Sports fan, a plus
• May be required to work extended hours to meet deadlines
