Job title: Specialist, Social Media
General Summary:The Specialist, Social Media is responsible for; community management of all DSW social channels, partnering with internal and external teams to ensure social content supports the seasonal marketing strategy, and managing the logistics of the DSW influencer program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Media
• Develops social campaign support plans, builds and executes on the strategy; briefs partners on the plan
• Manages social media content and recommends ideas for large campaigns,
• Aligns content with the digital strategy, seeks input from marketing intel to deliver leading-edge social media initiatives
• Responsible for briefing Creative team & Copywriters on content; plans and executes daily posts
• Accountable for ensuring all social projects align to current campaign objectives
• Creates and tracks social related jobs in project management tool; Reviews social content in all channels
• Responsible for tracking and accurately inputting social media post details into social media management tool (e.g. Spredfast) and appending appropriate meta tags for measurement
• Executes social media campaign programs as outlined by social media specialist/manager
• Responsible for community management of DSW organic channels
◦ Accountable for:
# Building, testing, and publishing all posts on all DSW social channels.
# Engaging with customers on DSW social media channel’s behalf to build credibility, authenticity and passion for the brand
# organic surprise & delight program
# contest activations
# develop and execute UGC activities
• Primary business contact for Shoephoria (Customer Care Service) and Spredfast (Social Media Management Software)
• Identifies and interprets social media trends and researches and recommends new platforms and tools
• Monitors industry best practices and maintains a repository of trends and examples
• Accountable for accurately developing social media reports, analyzing campaign and content results and partnering with manager on performance of KPIs to develop insights and recommendations
• Responsible for capturing LIVE social media content. Includes leveraging social media platform live feature, video, boomerang and still capabilities).
• Has a creative eye and can produce on-the-fly content (visual + copy) for live events
• Demonstrates awareness of industry trends and shares information with team
• Uses trends, data and metrics to drive innovative concepts that improve the business and social platform
• Accountable for Influencer program logistics
◦ Partners with Consumer Marketing team to create a list of styles that influencer can feature
◦ Orders and tracks all styles sent to influencers
◦ Ensures images/videos are loaded to Digital Asset Management tool
◦ Works to ensure influencer assets are used in appropriate marketing channels
Public Relations
• Manages the seasonal look book development
• Manages fashion editor requests
• Manages of media relations inbox
• Builds the monthly PR placement summary
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Demonstrated understanding of retail social media, ecommerce (mobile + web)
• Passion for digital technology
• Understanding of social channels, publishing and analytics
• Knowledge of social channels, their respective audiences and how each platform can be leveraged in different scenarios
• Ability to execute tactical and strategic direction with independent judgement
• High level of critical thinking ability and curiosity, particularly in balancing multiple projects and priorities.
• Independent thinker; resourceful approach to getting things done;
• Strong written/verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail
• Proactively seeks new work and growth opportunities to drive personal development and competencies
Software Competencies:
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint
• Social Media Management & Listening Software (e.g.> Spredfast, Crimson Hexagon)
• Trends software (e.g.> Google Trends and Pinterest Trends data)
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
• 3+ years of digital/social retail experience
• Knowledge of digital landscape as it pertains to the social media landscape
• Experience managing multiple campaigns at one time; Digitally-focused marketing experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field.
