Manager, Retail Events, MAC
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Event Manager provides support for event management and execution for all field-based Retail Events in North America. They will take the department lead for driving the Splash Booking System Tool. They will partner with Account Management for the execution of events in Retail Partners. The Event Manager must work well in a fast-paced environment, adhere to short timelines, be detail-oriented, and possess strong follow-through on projects with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Event Management, Guidance & Execution
•In-store event support as needed for U.S. markets, with large focus on NYC.
•All Level event guidance as needed
•Development of market tools such as conference calls, webinars, recaps, and any other materials to support these event levels
•Model selections and talent castings for all markets (Level A & AA Focused)
•Support the development of Level B visual and Level A event execution in all markets
•Management of additional event Logistics when applicable (including but not limited to catering, waitstaff, DJ’s, talent)
•Execute planning conference calls/webinars as needed for event programs of all levels
•Provide scheduling and performance guidance to ensure highest financial growth/return on events
•Drive the events in-store to maintain strong performance consistent with fiscal plans and budget
•Support Educational Event development & execution to assure successful execution for all events in focus markets
•Venue scouting support as needed for specific programs
•Lead on Trade Shows in terms of logistics, budget management and point of contact
•Operate as department lead for the Splash Event Tool
•Take on Event Creations & Partnership with Consumer Marketing for all event initiatives to be featured in the Splash Tool
Field Support
•Facilitate Event Trainings & Impact Team Trainings as needed
•Execute Retail Manager Event Workshops as needed
•Communicate with key Field contacts (MRSOs, Regional Trainers, etc.) as well as Account Leads to assure Retail Managers have event support
•Place follow-up calls with markets to assure person-to-person contact prior to event
•Follow-up to assure stores have all necessary logistics completed on-time and that bookings are on target
•Liaise with M·A·C locations to assure timely shipping and accuracy of collateral
•Be present at store meetings and regional meetings on an as-need basis
•Provide positive/constructive feedback to markets regarding event execution, recaps, photos, and checklist use
Recap & ROI Department Support
•Maintain & update event budgets in the moment for real-time forecasting and estimation of event costs
•Full budget reconciliation following the close of a program in concert with Event Manager partner, Administrator and ED.
•Collection, processing and management of all Event Recaps and photos
•Provide goal guidance to Field and Results support (in concert with Administrator)
•Assure all events are on-budget; follow-up to assure timely submission of invoices
•Follow-up to assure timely and accurate recap submission for events to department

•Maintain the Department Channel Grids, Planning Calendars, and Recap Feedback Forms for applicable markets & retailers
•Liaison for NARE as it pertains to Master Event Recap
•Support regional guidance for Retail Partner event related programs, execution, recaps & reports.
•Manage regular event status reports for events falling under one’s Division of Responsibility (DOR) to Executive Director.
Qualifications / Skills:
-Years of Related Experience:
5 years related experience; public speaking/presentation experience beneficial
-Education:
College degree preferred
-Job-Related Skills:
Excellent communication & organizational skills (oral and written).
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
In-store cosmetic / M·A·C experience beneficial.
Understanding of web-based databases such as SAP/Oracle.
Adobe design knowledge necessary (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign – General Creative Cloud)
-Job-Related Experience:
Event planning and management, M·A·C event experience preferred.
Knowledge of meeting presentations helpful.
Training and presentation skills a must.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple deadline-oriented projects.
-Communication Skills:
Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills. Professional attitude and ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive and calm manner.
-Effort:
This position requires excellent communication skills to be performed on a daily basis.This position requires moderate physical effort. Some unpacking and packing of materials will be required associated with scenic and costuming/kit elements. There may be moving and setting up of boxes, event pieces and other scenic & collateral. Travel will be required 40% - 50%.
