About the role:
Refinery29 is looking for an enthusiastic, detail oriented Assistant Photo Editor to contribute to a fast-paced photo department. This position will provide support specifically in the production and execution of Refinery29’s branded content. This position entails working on large programs on tight timelines that have a significant photo element. The person in this role will be on set with our clients and thus must have a calm, mature and responsible.

What you'll do:
• Working closely with the team’s photo editors and producers
• Image delivery for approval, resizing, credits and archiving
• Assisting with on brand photo research
• Supporting team with start to finish photo shoot production
• Budget tracking and reconciliation
• Maintaining photo deadlines
• Location Scouting and managing products for shoots
• Operational duties of a busy photo department including expense reports
• Support on photo shoots and during model fittings
• Job duties may change as per business needs
What you have:
• 1-2 years experience in a photo department, ad agency or relevant experience
• Strong creative sensibility with keen eye, knowledge and interest in fashion, photography and advertising (with a desire to constantly evolve and elevate)
• Strong research skills and eye on industry trends
• Must have basic knowledge of digital photography and digital cameras
• Must be proficient in Photoshop and be able to do basic retouching, image sizing, color correcting and layouts. Must be proficient in Keynote
• Quick thinking and resourceful, with the capability to prioritize and be held accountable for multiple projects with fast turnarounds.
• Excellent communication skills and extremely organized
• Thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment while maintaining a proactive attitude
• Must have a positive attitude and be a teamplayer
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Soft Skills are more important than hard skills
