What This Position Is All About:
HBC seeks a visionary VP, Brand Direction Role with a proven track record of creativity, organizational leadership, and innovation at the highest levels of the fashion and retail industries. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this position is responsible for leading, managing and executing brand marketing strategies and serving as the partnership hub between the banner and the Marketing COE with overall accountability for execution of all Marketing CoE activities for the banner
The VP Brand Direction Role will partner with the banner to develop annual and seasonal retail strategies and plans based on an understanding of the banner brand, retail environment, merchandising, and commerce priorities. He/she will play an integral role in serving the target consumer through a retail journey that is relevant to, and informed by the current marketplace and consumer trends. In this role, he/she will need to be able to work effectively across the marketing mix with Creative, Digital, Social, Events, and other marketing teams. This is a leadership role and the candidate must be able to oversee the brand’s evolution from strategy development through the successful execution of marketing plans, briefs and achievement of desired business outcomes. He/she must have a strong business acumen and be able to lead and influence individuals and teams, while driving results through teamwork and collaboration within an integrated marketplace.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in either the fashion, consumer retail industry, or held senior positions within an agency. He/she will need to be passionate about retail, a cultural innovator and a leader in the industry to help us reinvent why consumers go to retail. The candidate will have a strong strategic orientation, excellent communication skills, and will be comfortable motivating, leading and inspiring in a matrixed environment. He/she will also need to be a strong collaborator and influencer with all levels of the organization, including executives.
