We are looking for a skilled Graphic Designerto join our Creative Services team! This position requires an exceptionally creative and focused individual to support the team. You will have exposure to all phases of a project, from concept through production. Who are you? You have the ability to take positive critique and direction from art directors, peer graphic designers and project managers. You are a great communicator and collaborator and a master at organizing your internal workflow. Ability to maintain a strong passion for excellence in graphic design, typography and color. Possesses an interest and sensibility in photo editing and photography a plus. Thrive in a deadline driven retail environment. Utilize problem solving skills and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Engage with the team and cross functions partners with a positive attitude and great communication skills. Respond effectively and appropriately to creative feedback. Seek to present the Levis® brand with world-class, locally relevant creative. Flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial, as well as the ability to interpret creative briefs, distill information and report up to art directors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design retail and marketing creative assets, such as; retail floor sets and visual merchandising elements, window displays, logos, visual centers/style guides, signage/navigation, presentations, invitations, packaging, look books, photographic inspiration packages, collateral materials, print ads.
• Ensure a strong, recognizable and relevant visual look for the brand is communicated and executed across all assets and is consistent with the Levi’s brand identity.
• Take direction from Art Director leads and execute per that direction, while also providing additional options that offer a unique point of view to answer creative brief. Ensure all assets produced have been approved by Art Directors.
• Adapt and version existing creative materials for production delivery.
• Have an acute understanding of the Visual Merchandising world with specific knowledge of retail/fashion/apparel.
• Collaborate with creative partners to develop concepts and strategic design ideas that can be effectively executed.
• Work with the Visual Design team and communicate the merchandising requirements.
• Attend and participate in creative meetings and status, capture your actions and complete follow-up tasks.
• Represent as the design lead in cross-functional partner meetings and report back to the Art Director as needed.
• Familiarize yourself with Levi’s brand intelligence and creative in order to make informed and relevant decisions.
• Follow-up on open action items or escalate items with Art Directors as necessary.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, managing your own workload to meet defined deadlines and communicate out your capabilities when resetting of expectations is required.
• Researching inspiration, photographers, artist materials and pulling inspiration and considerations of concepts.
• Basic compositing and retouching.
• Maintain organized archive of art files.
• Demonstrates global cultural awareness with regard to content crossing global borders.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree equivalent education within Design/Arts field and/or Project Management.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience at an agency or in-house graphic design department.
• Intermediate to expert level in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, AcrobatPro and In-Design on a Mac platform and pre-flight production.
• In-house retail graphic design experience preferred.
• Skilled in compositing and retouching in Photoshop.
• Experience with various printed mediums and materials and large format printing.
• Proficient in building print-ready files with an acute attention to detail.
• Ability to comprehend logical page structure, readability, visual hierarchy and balance packaging.
