Overview
The Freelance Video Producer will assist in the producing, editing, and shooting of branded video content for Urban Outfitters at the headquarters. This person will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product to support UO’s marketing campaigns, scheduled programming, product launches, social media, and cultural programs/events. These campaigns span across all UO’s digital media channels including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and beyond.
In addition to assembling, the Video Producer will also create motion graphics to be incorporated into videos as well as revising and refining content based on feedback from the Art Director. Extensive professional shooting and editing experience as well as experience of creating animations is a requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
Motion Graphics
• Responsible for the preparation, creation, execution, and integration of motion graphics across UO’s video content. Working in collaboration with the rest of the team to design enticing new forms of animation that communicate the UO brand voice, and help evoke an emotional response. Will work on a diverse array of projects from social videos, scheduled programming, and editorial videos.
Editing
• Work closely alongside the rest of the team to amass, neatly organize, and pull selects from all recorded material including camera footage, audio recording, and motion graphics. Will work with the Art Director to revise and refine various cuts to achieve the desired end result. Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time.
Shooting
• Will assist on some video shoots as camera operator, assistant camera, or production assistant for projects spanning across social videos, programmed series, and e-commerce.
Qualifications
• 1-2 years of professional video and graphic design experience.
• Highly skilled in After Effects with an extensive knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc).
• Experienced user of Cinema 4D.
• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment (high-end camera systems by brands like RED, Arri, Canon, Sony).
• Design-trained to understand typography, movement and layout
• Experience designing animated graphic formats (gif, svg, etc).
• Work from a narrative film, music video, or art video background rather than a commercial background will be also considered, based on an impressive portfolio of creative work.
• Experience working within a wide range of videos: documentary, fashion editorial, commercial, narrative, and/or event coverage, etc.
• Understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and brand image.
• True passion for art, fashion, current trends, models and photography, and eager to bring inspiration to the team.
• Ability to interpret a brief and communicate internally.
• Experience in working to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Self-motivator who can generate ideas for projects independently and collaboratively, and communicate those ideas effectively to the team while working under tight deadlines.
• Maintain personal knowledge and skill level of current and future video technologies in the industries of fashion, video and art.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and equipment and maintaining detailed file-based workflow.
• Maintain inspiration library and research new ideas and concepts for projects.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Videography, Graphic Design, or a related field.
