Executive Director, Online Brand Planning - North America
Description
The Executive Director for North America Online Brand Planning is responsible for leading the NA online brand planning team, driving efficiency and scale in core forecasting capabilities and optimizing inventory across all U.S. and Canada brand sites. The ED is a key value-add and strategic business partner, working with a multitude of cross functional teams throughout the organization: eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics, Customer Service/Operations, Demand Planning, Supply Chain and 3PLs. An astute leader, with strong business knowledge and financial acumen, he/she will fuel sales growth for the NA online channel by leading efforts with highly developed disciplines and industry best practices in merchandise planning methods. The ED will lead a dedicated planning team who is keen on delivering financial goals and merchandise assortment plans. As the online business continually evolves, the ED will also act as the team lead throughout a variety of new projects, initiatives, system and process enhancements and ensuring that online planning deliverables are always identified and achieved.
Key Deliverables:
•Lead strategic planning & estimate process across brand portfolio
•Drive the process throughout budget season in developing topline sales & bottoms up merchandise plans that align with each brand strategy, focusing on maximizing all areas of business opportunities.
•Partner with eCommerce teams in developing key building blocks and having a strong pulse on category shifts and latest trends.
•Key business owner around monthly/quarterly estimate process. Drive strategic discussions with various teams, identifying risks and opportunities, facilitating conversations in order to derive the most accurate estimate. Negotiate and/or facilitate conversations as needed if a consensus on an estimate cannot be reached.
•Deliver highly analytical assessments and estimates by individual commercial programs to determine the most appropriate course of action.
•Establish KPIs and measure results from sales through gross profit, making recommendations to react mid-stream in order to deliver on committed financial results.
•Provide insightful, actionable reporting relevant to various business owners throughout the organization.
•Articulate & synthesize business needs, trends, outlook with all levels of senior management.
•Work collaboratively with planners tightening demand forecast accuracy while partnering with inventory & supply team to optimize inventory across regional DCs.
•Ensure team manages to high in-stock rate, while planning high inventory turn, focusing on maximizing sales, minimizing excess and profitable return on inventory investment.
•Oversee process behind New Product Launch forecast commitments, providing guidance on open-to-buy like budgets, balancing fiscal disciplines with areas of high potential/deep commitments.
•Strong alignment with global marketing/demand planning/ecommerce teams on key investments towards new product launches. Being highly strategic about when to make the big bets and where it makes sense to reduce risk on inventory investment, curating contingency plans for strong sell thru.
•Manage and cultivate team development and growth by attracting & retaining high performers and cultivating a “lead from every chair” mindset
•Drive/enhance processes & capabilities to develop best practices and cultivate a retail-minded planning environment.
•Coach and train planners to identify key learnings and develop future strategies
•Mentor team to own individual brand relationships, businesses and forecasting plans and provide strategic analysis to ecommerce partners.
•Lead team to develop a forward thinking mindset in order to foresee potential problems and implement solutions before they occur and proactively manage all aspects of planning for the businesses supported
•Re-engineer current process, tools & training in order to deliver highly accurate and detailed outbound & inbound fulfillment forecast requirements
Qualifications
•A proven track record of 10+ years running a merchandise planning organization and driving a business with financially solid results.
•eCommerce and/or Omnichannel experience, particularly with a portfolio of brands strongly preferred.
•Proven leadership and team management skills, demonstrating responsibility for building a high-performing team.
•Ability to juggle tasks across a mix of brands, while having the interpersonal skills to build strong partnerships across various teams.
•Exceptional organizational, managerial, analytical skills.
•Strong time management skills exhibited in an extremely fast paced environment.
•Demonstrated effective change management skills.
•Demonstrated ability to drive business process changes and overall change management.
•Highly analytical and results oriented problem solver.
•Ability to maneuver within a highly matrixed organization.
•Advanced in Excel.
•BA/BS required.
