Purpose:
The Production Designer works on the production design, layout and versioning of the graphic design needs of Levi's Global Creative Services Department and assists primarily with the adaptation and extension of existing design structures and brand advertising.
The ideal candidate has worked in a fast-paced creative environment (agency, in-house, studio) for 4+ years, is an Adobe Creative Suite maestro, fast-learner and has a strong understanding of print design and production.
Key Results:
• Executes design work that meets defined quality standards in a timely manner
• Regularly reviews creative work with the group’s senior creative staff to get feedback on direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other activities in the group
• Participates in presentations or meetings, as appropriate
Additional Information and Key Metrics:
Focus on:
• Supporting the creative team with layout of style guides and seasonal toolkits
• Supporting In-store, PR and marketing assets
• Seasonal graphics for internal presentations
• Windows and compontents guidelines (in partnership with BE)
Key Responsibilities:
TECHNICAL
• Produce print-ready production mechanicals for releasing to print
• Version signs, banners and other materials based on existing designs
• Support the creative team with layout of Style Guides and seasonal toolkits
• Ensures all design layouts are optimized for end-use and delivered according to specifications, production standards, color quality standards, and digital requirements.
• Maintain organized archive of art files and maintain file naming conventions and network server structure
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Work directly with art directors, graphic designers, and project managers.
• Partners with copy and graphic designers to ensure all creative is aligned and communicate a brand-consistent message
• Attend and participate in high level creative meetings regarding the visual design toolkits and ensure that the Creative Services team is always represented and completes follow-up actions
• partner with project management to mitigate and escalate work issues and impacting parameters for project deadlines.
Minimum Education Required:
• Bachelor degree equivalent education within design/arts field and/or project management
• Minimum 3 years experience in an agency or in-house graphic design department
• Intermediate to expert level in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro DC) platform and pre-flight production.
Years and Type of Experience Required:
• Minimum 3 years of combined experience in either digital graphic design or qualification from a related technical/educational qualification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• In-house retail graphic design experience preferred.
• Strong typographic and layout skills.
• Skilled in compositing and retouching in Photoshop.
• Experience with various printed mediums and materials and large format printing
• Proficient in building print-ready files with an acute attention to detail.
• Ability to comprehend logical page structure, readability, visual hierarchy and balance packaging.

• Ability to work under creative direction and respond well to feedback and critique
• Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under multiple, occasionally competing deadlines.
• Comfortable with working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
