Job Summary:
The Director for Corporate Communications & Strategic Initiatives plays a key role in advancing L’Oreal Paris brand mission of “Because I’m Worth It” in the US. As part of the corporate communications team, the Director will build brand strategies for the brands CSR cause, iconic philanthropic program Women of Worth and lead strategic initiatives including media sponsorships, red carpet events and international sponsorships. The Director will also serve as lead for US talent relations and crisis communication. This person will play an important role with external key opinion leaders across media, politics, women’s issues, film, philanthropy and public affairs.
The team member will build partnerships with US Marketing, US Integrated Consumer Communications team and the international DMI to drive master brand strategy and reputation. This team member will serve as liaison to identify L’Oreal Paris “moments of worth” storytelling to elevate the brands values and mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Strengthening, enhancing and protecting L’Oréal Paris Brand image and reputation among key stakeholders in the U.S.
Acting as lead on cross-functional day-to-day operations for the brands cause and philanthropy Women of Worth
Providing strategic communications counsel to LOP categories including skincare, haircare, haircolor and cosmetics to drive brand reputation and “worth” mission
Acting as lead on day-to-day operations for cross-functional strategic initiatives including: media integrations (Elle Women in Hollywood, Glamour Women of the Year), red carpet events (e.g. Golden Globes, Emmy’s, Latin Grammy’s, Oscars) and international sponsorships like the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week; identify potential new opportunities where L’Oreal Paris can build a presence
Working closely with Brand Communications team on influencer relations, PR and social media strategies
Acting as lead on day-to-day crisis management, working closely with the corporate teams and departments to develop holistic responsive communications strategies and anticipate emerging issues.
Drafting presentations, press materials to persuade and drive brand reputation
Managing external CSR agencies and event vendors
Building and strengthen external relationships with KOLs.
Budget management and accountability
Contributing to PR media measurement and brand reputation index to quantify impact
Ability to travel 15% of the year in the US and Internationally
Key Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience.
Exceptional writing skills; ability to distill and present complex information into clear, concise and engaging communications.
Determined and self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic and passionate work environment.
Outstanding track record of success in developing, prioritizing and managing multi-faceted communications strategies.
Strong teamwork, analytical skills, leadership and interpersonal skills, and building/maintaining collaborative relationships.
Excellent judgment and ability to juggle multiple assignments in fast-paced environment.
Ability to work productively in a cross-functional environment and build strong relationships with internal (senior leadership, brands, divisions, etc.) and external teams (agencies, partners, vendors).
Demonstrates an adaptable work style, responding quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
