The social media and digital content manager will be responsible for real-time digital and social media monitoring and engagement for Fanatics, the global leader for licensed sports merchandise, and its executive. This person will be responsible for discovering, packaging, and distributing social content across Instagram and Twitter platforms using original text, images, video and graphics. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be well-versed in the digital, entertainment, sports, fashion, retail and business worlds.
Responsibilities
• Develop/distribute creative and original content social media posts tied to sports, pop culture, retail and business narratives.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the entertainment, sports and business space from a social media perspective and the ability to make strategic suggestions and identify “watch outs” based on that knowledge.
• Proactively monitor news and social trends related to sports, pop culture, retail and business that could be relevant content for social media channels.
• Design graphics and/or advanced video executions that would be appropriate for social media channels.
• Write effective, concise copy for multiple platforms and social networks.
• Collaborate with company executives to develop a strategic social media content calendar around major sports events, appearances, speaking opportunities, etc.
• Attend activities as needed to capture pictures and video for social media content.
• Measure the reach of social media campaigns and/or posts by delivering recap metrics that highlight the social media conversation.
• Incorporate optimization strategies, analyze data, and research best ways to increase traffic, engagement, while building a strong community of followers across channels.
• Provide creative direction to executives to guide content development.
Requirements
• 4-5 years of experience managing social media campaigns and/or overall social media management on behalf of relevant brands, executives or celebrities.
• Expert in social media platforms and content creation.
• Should be competent from a graphic design, editorial and digital marketing perspective.
• Demonstrated aptitude for social content discovery.
• Experience in increasing audience engagement and retention based on content packaging and distribution.
• Able to identify new areas of growth, new potential audiences, and new platforms with which to expand the social media presence.
• General knowledge/experience using paid social tactics to amplify campaigns or projects
• Proactive and open to making larger recommendations on content, strategy and tactics.
• Be willing to work nights and weekend hours as needed.
• Position will based in NYC.
