Associate Director, Social Media, MAC
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary focus of this position is to partner with the Director, Social Media and the broader 360 creative teams to concept, develop and execute M·A·C Cosmetic’s global creative social media content strategy, campaign launch strategy, and evergreen social activations. The Associate Director, Social Media is a creative, visually driven storyteller, who lives and breathes short form social content and partners closely with the 360 creative leads to help amplify their concepts by bringing forward-thinking social first ideas. This role will also manage and mentor a small team of digital designers, to help execute M·A·C’s social media and 360 social content. This role reports into the Director, Social Media.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Bring creative innovation to MAC’s social channels and stimulate the development of new ideas with the 360 creative teams.
•Integrate strategy of IG content onto MAC’s online channels: Global Ecommerce sites and Retailer.com.
•Creative development and execution of short form videos for Social Media.
•Art direct photo shoots and video shoots to ensure accurate visual expression and align with creative direction for Instagram.
•Work closely with other inter-disciplinary creative teams to generate seasonal ideas for collections and photo shoots.
•Maintain visual and conceptual consistency with offline brand strategy for collections and apply to all interactive mediums; maintain awareness of future programs and initiatives and how they relate to overall creative strategy.
•Communicate design goals and messages to designers and editorial teams, ensuring integration of design requirements into all phases of production.
•Oversee production process of all social assets and applications.
•Introduce new talent, vendors and agencies for video and digital projects.
•Research and analyze industry trends and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and creative techniques.
•Responsible for MAF social platforms.
Qualifications
•BA or BFA preferred
•5+ years of direct design experience
•Fluent in computer programs including, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Keynote, PowerPoint and basic knowledge of Flash, HTML, CSS
•Thorough and current understanding of global social media platforms
•Exhibit a broad understanding of the digital media market, leading trends and changes in consumer behavior.
•Ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
•Superior organizational skills
•Understanding of all current trends including global fashion, beauty, design, art, music, social media and popular culture
•Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
