POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Resident Director and Resident Assistant staff composed of undergraduates, graduates and interns.
• Oversee programmatic component of the department in the areas of community development and student learning.
• Interpret and enforce Institute and Residential Life policies and procedures, resolve conflicts and make referrals for judicial action including but not limited to hearing judicial cases and assigning sanctions.
• Coordinate, in conjunction with and under the direction of the Associate Director, staff training and development initiatives.
• Oversee summer program (either summer housing or pre-college.)
• Participate in the implementation of housing procedures and systems including, but not limited to housing assignment/room selection, Health and Safety inspections, room change, vacancy verification and check-in/check-out ensuring quality service provision.
• Oversee budget and petty cash fund for a residential area.
• Work in close collaboration with Security and Facilities Management staffs in effective administration of residential area.
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of on-going departmental strategic planning goals, objectives and initiatives.
• Serve on Institute-wide committees and task forces.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Masters preferred
Experience:
Two years residence hall administration and supervision required - three years supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
• Computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
