Job Summary:
The Director, Financial Planning & Inventory Control will be responsible for sales and margin planning, forecasting, and reporting. This position will oversee a team of five to six associates and drive processes, efficiency, and effectiveness within the assigned area of responsibility. This position will analyze inventory costs and identify opportunities for improvement for existing systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
• Manage sales and margin planning, forecasting, and reporting
• Perform inventory planning and forecasting
• Partner cross-functionally to develop inventory control policies and procedures and partner with Finance to ensure the policies are in accordance with required regulations and internal practices
• Participate in product cost planning
• Analyze inventory costs, product costing accuracy, and opportunities for improvement
• Contribute to I.R. and Board presentations
• Partner across the organization with BTO projects (e.g., Ropis, International expansion, wholesale expansion)
• Manage inventory controls, valuation of inventory, month-end close, and the accuracy of books and processes
• Direct physical and cycle count processes and the accurate reading of inventory shrinkage, analysis, and opportunities to improve
• Manage inventory and inventory related reserves
• Develop and maintain partner relationships with business units and corporate stakeholders (IT, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, etc.)
• Ensure best practices in inventory planning and sales planning are implemented in the company
• Drive research to improve inventory, sales and margin planning, forecasting, and reporting methods and ensure the company is adhering to the most updated policies and practice s
• Complete special projects related to corporate, CFO, and Finance initiatives
• Drive process, efficiency, and effectiveness
• Lead a team of 5-6 associates
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; CPA a plus
• 7+ years of experience in financial planning, inventory, or similar area
• SAP experience preferred
