Job Description
Position Purpose:As our Email Developer, you will be responsible for design integration for all customized emails created and sent across the GUESS family of brands for North America. This role reports to the Senior Manger of Email Marketing and requires an individual with excellent HTML/CSS skills, extensive email development experience, great teamwork, communication, attention to detail and most importantly a passion for crafting beautiful and creative experiences in the inbox.
Essential Functions:
1. Code responsive emails using HTML, CSS, and AmpScript with email best practices in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (20%)
2. Deliver production for all assigned email marketing campaigns, which includes slicing PSD files, converting to HTML, QA’ing against customer profiles, and addressing change rounds and revisions (20%)
3. Create scalable dynamic content logic using our ESP’s templating language, Ampscript & SSJS. (15%)
4. Under the direction of Senior Manager of Email Marketing, serve as the point-of-contact for internal cross-functional teams (design, editorial, merchandising) on email campaign build-outs (10%)
5. Create & maintain version control of email development through the use of Github, Jira, and/or task runners for our build/email deploy systems (10%)
6. Quickly assess new projects (requirements) to identify level of effort and resources needed (5%)
7. Act as the SME (subject matter expert) around coding and email design best practices. Provide training and mentoring to all email team members on code structure and the best practices to ensure consistency and the highest quality of output. (5%)
8. Collaborate with Web Development Team to create API calls to support triggered & transactional emails. (5%)
9. As-needed support Email Specialists on updating static promotional emails to support commercial messaging (aka “marketing emails). (5%)
10. Own readability and accurate email rendering across all major North American email clients and devices using Litmus. (5%)

Nature of Experience:
Building and leading email development to support responsive, adaptive, and fluid/hybrid emails for using in commercial & triggered email messaging.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Special Knowledge or Skills:
• 2-4 years of experience in front-end development/design or email development; retail e-commerce experience a plus
• Experience creating responsive, adaptive, and fluid/hybrid emails
• Experience developing triggered email campaigns that include dynamic content.
• Comfortable with source version control software
• Experience with quality assurance (QA) protocols and ownership of QA testing and signoff for all email deliverables
• Experience working with enterprise and/or scalable cloud-based ESPs (Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Responsys, Sendgrid, etc.).
• Strong Understanding of Email Marketing Best Practices, International CAN-SPAM Laws, HTML and CSS.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to multi-task and exceptional attention to detail
Preferred:
• Strong understanding and experience working with restful APIs and services, lifecycle of HTTP requests
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to conceptualize and communicate highly detailed technical concepts to a technical and non-technical audience
• Working knowledge of SQL, Hive/Hadoop a plus.
