Associate Native Living Editor & Content Strategist
POPSUGAR is looking for a hard-working, versatile lifestyle junkie to join our branded content team as an Associate Living Editor. Our ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, thinks on his or her feet, has a smart, fun voice, and is willing to tackle all things lifestyle. If you’re obsessed with the latest travel hot spots, love creating home DIYs, enjoy whipping up on-the-go recipes, and your friends often come to you for give-it-to-me-straight advice, we want to talk to you!
Responsibilities and key accountabilities:
• Create content and thematic programs for a multitude of advertisers with a strong focus on lifestyle brands, including those in travel, home, food, consumer goods, work & money, health, auto, and tech verticals
• Contribute “never been done before” ideas to branded content brainstorms for new lifestyle business at The Bakery
• Conceptualize, develop, and write custom lifestyle content according to Native Team mission that's thematically aligned with an advertiser’s goals
• Brainstorm and produce original, short and long-form content and features to complement our fun, friendly, trending content
• Produce an average of 3 pieces of standout original content each day that require little to no top-editing
• Contribute to video process, including storyboard development
• Collaborate with photo and design teams do develop photo and design treatments
• Become an expert within sites’ genres and keep up with all news, trends, content and standout features on similar sites
• Work closely with teams across POPSUGAR Sales and The Bakery, including marketing, sales, photography, video, events, and client services
Experience:
• 3-5 years editorial or advertising/brand writing experience (mix of editorial and brand/agency experience a plus)
• A passion for lifestyle, including an understanding of trends and the lifestyle space and a knowledge of content that resonates with a millennial audience
• Working knowledge of brands/influencers/experts within the lifestyle space
• Highly creative and conceptual, with a portfolio of editorial and/or copywriting samples to share
• Some experience in working in collaborative sales processes, including the interaction required in an advertising sales environment
• A deep understanding of the current social, digital, digital, branded content, and mobile landscapes
• Strong understanding of how to offer solutions for advertisers long-term business objectives
• Proficiency with HTML and Photoshop
