Reporting to the SVP, Global Human Resources, the HR Director oversees the operations of the HR department for the Corporate Headquarters in San Francisco. The HR Director provides the leadership necessary to deliver a broad spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers that are fully aligned with the brand's values, strategic, financial and talent goals. This spectrum of support includes performance management, succession planning, employee development, immigration, recruiting, employer branding, office management and payroll. This role supports all Corporate functional groups within HR, Benefits, Office and related matters. Additionally, this role will lead a large, diverse team of HR-related professionals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain a deep understanding of the business and culture inside and out so that you are able to provide strategic HR partnership to the business leaders and the teams you support
• Develop and drive Corporate HR strategy and agenda that supports the business needs/priorities for respective business unit (e.g., assessment, coaching, strategizing, driving change, retention, staffing, and development)
• Provide support and guidance to Senior Management and their team on organization structure and assessment and ideas on how to leverage HR tools and programs to create an effective organization (e.g., Succession Planning, Performance Management, feedback, leadership development)
• Lead the execution of the Corporate performance management process (MPP) including goal-setting, performance reviews and employee development planning. Provide training and coaching to managers and associates on the process, roles, forms, rating calibration and timelines
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Provide guidance to leaders and managers on employment laws, compensation, training, benefits, and Company policies
• Build a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, understanding how innovation trends affect our business and culture ensuring Benefit will continue to be a leader at the forefront of employee experience and inclusion
• Coach and develop the HR, Recruiting, Office Management, and Payroll teams by providing clear objectives, performance feedback and coaching, and career development opportunities. Provide cross-functional leadership to promote collaboration with Business Units
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• 7 - 10 years of progressively broader HR experience including generalist and management of people
• 5 - 7 years working with senior executive teams
• 7 + years HR management experience in California
• HR management in a creative environment is strongly preferred
• Broad knowledge of and experience with a wide array of HR programs and practices including employment law, compensation, performance management, leadership development, coaching, employee relations, change management and organizational development and effectiveness
• Proven ability to influence and drive change with executive teams
• Prior experience in two or more of the functional areas of Office Management, Payroll, and/or Recruiting
• Understanding of Federal and CA payroll law
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to align people strategy to driving the business
• Demonstrated expertise in assessing organization trends and implementing HR solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively building teams across business groups and functions
• Strong coaching and counseling skills with senior executives
• Demonstrated expertise in handling sensitive and high risk issues
• Track record of building competency and developing skills of others
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree required
