Job Description

Live...Dream... Work the Adventure! Cabela’s has openings for part-time Special Events Staff at our Scarborough, ME retail store.
Position summary:
Helps coordinate, implement, and execute special events in the store. Will be called on to work during events in various capacities, including but not limited to setting up and taking down, manning tables, promoting sales, conducting activities, working with children, working in conjunction with affiliates and local organizations, etc.
This position is part of our P.A.C.E. program which means the Outfitter will be contacted prior to events to pick up shifts. The typical work demand is one to four shifts per 30 to 45 days, depending on the event schedule and time of year. This Outfitter is also free to cross-train and work more hours in other capacities per business need and skills/abilities of the Outfitter.
P.A.C.E. Outfitters may be asked to receive POS training if working outside Events Department.
Position responsibilities:
1. Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers
2. Assists with the execution of all major promotional events
3. Helps coordinate and execute outdoor skills workshop programs
4. Works with Special Events Specialist to coordinate external & internal Public Relations activities
5. Communicates all store events timely & appropriately
6. Fosters goodwill for the BPS/Cabela brand in the local community
7. Keeps work area clean, neat, and safe at all times
8. Follows all Company policies and procedures
9. Other duties, assignments, and responsibilities as needed.
Education and/or Experience
High Schools Diploma or Equivalent
Conservation and outdoor experience / appreciation desired
Communication Skills
Public speaking ability preferred
Enjoys working with children and groups of people
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good Planning and Organizational skills
Ability to function in a Microsoft Office environment, especially Word, Excel and data entry
