Director, Design, La Mer
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary focus of this position is strategic content creative development and execution of all global 360 campaign launches for the La Mer brand. The ideal candidate will create extraordinarily strong storytelling, 360 strategically and analytical thinker, who is able to create holistic contents and execute breakthrough consumer-centric initiatives across our brand channels – print, digital, and social media. The Design Director is responsible for strategic content creation from inception through completion. The Design Director will partner with the VP and the ED in development of concept campaigns from ideation to execution of all assets for a 360 campaign. Partnering with Copy, Digital, Visual Merchandising, and the Social team to develop campaigns. The candidate will be an innovative, strategic, passionate creative thinker with strong problem solving skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Create awe-inspiring, strong story-telling creative content creation/campaigns for all global programs that resonates with target audiences at La Mer.
•A definitive creative vision, a high level of design sophistication, a keen eye for photography, and strong typography skills are essential.
•Direct projects from concept through coordination of photo shoots, retouching, mechanical production and release.
•Lead with various departments and functions including Designers, Visual Merchandising, Copywriters and Production Artists during project development.
•Partner with Operations to meet fast paced timelines
•Ensure best in class standards are being met.
•Integrate specific projects with overall brand standards and style guidelines.
•Take ownership of deliverables and initiatives with acute attention to craft and detail
•Be able to present ideas to senior management team
•Must have a good eye for layout and details and an expert in luxury space.
•Must have a good eye for color and experienced in image color markup
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Keynote to create presentation decks
•Position requires 8+ years related experience at a traditional ad agency or similar experience in a brand creative studio.
•Leadership skill a must. Be able to be mentor and develop the junior team members
•Good interpersonal skill is required., team play mentality.
•Conceptual thinker. Being able to ideate, present, develop, and execute projects from start to finish in highest quality.
•Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and can adapt changing priorities and creative approach.
•Great understanding of luxury market and be familiar with trends in culture, luxury arena, design, technology, user experience, and social media
•Is self-motivated and resourceful with a positive, can-do attitude.
•Meticulous and detailed oriented, both in your technical work, and in your ability to expertly present your designs
•Flexible and multi-functional to handle ever changing priorities
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment
•Be agile and have the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects
•Understanding and implementation of animation and video production skills a plus.
•Working knowledge of prototyping tools (InVision, Marvel, etc.)
•Story boarding, motion graphics and video experience
