Overview
The Jewelry Supply Planning Manager will identify the manufacturing production capacity required to meet Demand Management's Master Acquisition Plan for internal manufacturing and all external vendors while working with all cross functional business partners. The Planning Manager will own and manage a team and vendor population ensuring the proper communication between all development channels. The Planning Manager is responsible for providing input and analysis to support the development of manufacturers and ensure a successful and data backed planning function. Additionally, the Planning Manager may assist in the identification of necessary raw materials/components needed to meet the master production schedule.
Responsibilities
Vendor Management & Project Management
• Effectively communicate all vendor delivery related issues to appropriate cross functional partners
• Perform vendor analysis to meet the needs of the business while working closely with Strategic sourcing on vendor related planning data and analytics
• Devise and implement action plan to resolve capacity constraints while working with internal manufacturing and external vendors.
• Partner with cross functional team members of Product Development, Category Management, Demand Management and Manufacturing on all issues and issue resolutions relating to availability which impact the requirements set by the Master Acquisition Schedule.
• Maintain daily communication with vendor base on capacity/supply issues and resolution relating to the Master Acquisition Schedule.
• Work with cross functional project teams to achieve optimal timing for new product launches.
• Develop and utilize modeling and analytics to properly advise on new product and legacy product launches in order to maximize efficiencies
• Work with partners across Jewelry Supply team to ensure Sox compliance.
Capacity Planning
• Partner with planning teams in setting the total cost optimization and capacity utilization strategy between internal and external vendors
• Manage and communicate the future production needs as it relates to the second and third time fences (acquisition schedule or other vehicle) to all vendors for capacity planning purposes.
• Own and approve purchase orders and work orders in MIPS/JD Edwards for vendors.
• Manage, expedite, reschedule and prioritize requirements to ensure success of supply chain teams from a planning perspective
• Ensure that all processes and procedures are addressed and in accordance with Corporate compliance requirements
• Manage New Product Launch Quantity Communication in conjunction with strategic sourcing, product development and innovation center teams
• Create and own dialogue between cross functional partners to ensure alignment from a vendor planning perspective
Leadership and Staff Development
• Provide leadership to staff by setting clear expectations and driving accountability through the performance management process.
• Develop talent by closing skill gaps in order to maximize staff potential through projects and stretch assignments.
• Through professional presence and behaviors, inspire trust and integrity. Influence staff members at all levels through coaching, team-building and relationship building with business partners.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of planning related work experience & knowledge (Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Strategic Sourcing)
• 2+ years of relevant management or supervisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mathematics, Finance (Business Planning, Dynamic Forecasting)
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
• Experience leading or supporting supply management initiatives
• Experience with MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
• Advanced MS Office computer skills – specifically Excel and Access
• Strong verbal communication and writing skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills; strong work ethic
• Coaching skills to support staff performance, development and training
• Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge of MIPS (Merchandising Information Processing Systems) and JD Edwards
• Knowledge of Tiffany & Co. Product
• Category specific industry experience
• Masters / MBA or equivalent business background
• Professional qualification / certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM / CPSM, APICS)
