ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:
• Provides expert procurement perspective and makes recommendations to executive leadership and business colleagues.
• Identifies and develops excellent working relationships with strategic business stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements and to support the business in achievement of its outcomes
• Manages team implementation of assigned training to ensure a high standard of professional excellence is maintained among staff members
• Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines
• Defines tasks and activities of staff, clearly describing deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for staff members. Ensures development and use of personnel are effective in achieving financial goals. Oversees operational controls to monitor performance and maximize the return on manpower investment. Measures project progress against plan.
• As applicable, approves overall project plan, budgets, task descriptions and work breakdown structure, developing schedules, and contingency plans. Responsible for work status assessment and reporting. Responsible for controlling all expenditures on the work activity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
• Masters Degree preferred
• Ten or more years of Procurement or Supply Chain related experience
• Eight or more years of supervisory or management experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven success in managing a team of people
• Experience working with sourcing and contracting, strategic sourcing, category management and supplier management practices
• Experience working with a global company
• Experience working with company policies and procedures
CRITICAL SKILLS:
• Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Strong communication skills
• Strong human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employees
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of applicable categories
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
