About the Role
Stitch Fix is looking for aDirector of Accounting Operations to join our dynamic team and lead our mighty Accounting function. We are looking for a passionate people leader and able to strike the right balance of accounting/integrity with business practicality. You will lead and direct an accounting team capable of dealing with a rapidly growing and changing business environment. You have public company experience and experience in eCommerce/inventory management/retail strongly desired. You will be a true partner to the organization always approaching work with a lens of adding value to the company.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
• Lead, develop and inspire a team of 7 accounting professionals
• Own and optimize all aspects of accounting operations including monthly and quarterly close processes, quarterly review and annual audit procedures with an eye on developing a future-ready finance team
• Sit on the Controllership Leadership Team and serve as a role-model business partner to fellow finance leaders and cross-functional colleagues
• Partner with the Directors of SOX and Technical Accounting to establish and implement effective controls over the accounting, close and reporting processes
• Not be afraid to roll-up your sleeves and dig in when and where necessary

We’re excited about you because…
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and 10-15 years of experience leading a publicly traded company’s accounting function
• You have an active CPA and experience at a Big Four accounting firm is preferred
• You have excellent technical accounting skills with a detailed understanding of current GAAP standards and SEC reporting requirements
• You have experience in Inventory Management (e.g. retail or hardware companies) and ability to develop policies, processes, and controls
• You have experience working with accounting and financial reporting systems, and designing and implementing systems and procedures
• You have experience implementing an ERP system and SOX compliance
• You possess strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and develop others to produce high-quality work
• You take initiative, think critically to solve problems and are comfortable juggling many projects at once
• You are exceptionally detail oriented and anticipate possible issues before they arise
• You have the capacity to operate within a collaborative environment with highly motivated teammates and interact with other parts of the business
• You have strong personal integrity with the highest ethical standards
