Director of Finance, Classics
Purpose
Provide timely, relevant and accurate financial and operational performance data and analyses to all assigned functions to support the Classics Business Unit.
The role acts as a financial advisor and business partner to the senior management team, primarily the Classics General Manager, by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making, best practice sharing and continuous process improvement.
Perform business, and operational analysis to impact top-line and bottom-line results and to support senior management decision making. In doing so, this individual will update monthly reports, track performance against projections, work with department heads to develop sound product lines and assist in the preparation, analysis and presentation of the monthly results to the executive management team.
Key Accountabilities
Functional:
• Lead Forecast/Budget and Analysis of Marketing Overheads, Marketing Working Budget and Cost of Sales Variances for assigned BU.
• Act as a business partner for BU General Manager to secure achievement of BU financial performance against targets by evaluating/ recommending/ implementing/ tracking and creating adequate solutions. Drive speed/transparency for business analysis.
• Ownership of BU of the BU financial plan, both short term and long term.
• Provide leadership and executional excellence to set and track BU operational targets (Product complexity).
• Lead Category Planning to ensure BUs and Markets achieve their Category Plans.
• Develop price harmonization practices to identify areas of concern and opportunities. Partner with CtC team to drive process and support decision making.
• Develop business cases, and post Mortem analysis on BU investments.
• Enable fact based decision making by creating transparency on relevant P&L line items (market & category focus), Performance Indicators and key project & process progress results.
• Direct the global forecasting process with markets and product marketing teams within business units. Manage and drive the drop process for all markets and business units.
• Ownership of cross-functional IBP topics as it relates to Reebok Brand functions.
• Support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process by preparing & co-leading with GM the monthly BU drumbeat session.
• Identify & propose new strategies and processes for driving the profitability and efficiency of the area of responsibility through own expertise.
• Proactively drive strategic initiatives across the organization, and lead key projects to ensure consistency, efficiency and target achievement within the organization.
• Identify risks and opportunities and derive recommended action steps.
• Provide training, mentorship and leadership to define standards, processes and procedures within own area of responsibility but also in the larger circle of concern within the finance team.
• Ensures financial but also non-financial managers are provided top notch and highly accurate information and analysis for their business decisions.
Personnel:
• Provide leadership and consultation for analyst through sharing of best practice techniques and mentoring.
• Develop a high performing team under the company’s principles and objectives. Create environment which enables team members to perform, leading by example and driving employee engagement.
• Manage direct report and resources as an integrated team by setting team objectives, targets and guidelines to coach, motivate and develop.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced cross-functional marketing, sales & finance knowledge of the sport and/or fashion/lifestyle categories (sporting goods industry preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and high degree of stakeholder orientation.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Business Objects (or other reporting software).
• Excellent knowledge in Finance and Accounting and ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data from multiple sources and develop demand-driven and action based reporting and analysis, as well as creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior executives, stakeholders, cross functional business leaders, peers, clients, and customers.
• An integrating personality adapt to work cross functionally within the business across all levels of the Organization.
• Strong planning and organization skills, and ability to work and deliver multiple priorities in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines.

Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):
1. University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
2. CPA or MBA preferred
3. 8-10 years’ experience in financial planning or analysis with progressive responsibility
4. Industry specific experience strongly preferred
5. Solid accounting skills and experience
6. Familiarity with SAP and other relevant adidas and industry financial systems/analytical software a major plus
7. Advanced Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Skills
