Vice President Merchandise Planning (Central Planning)
Position:Full-Time

GENERAL FUNCTION
The Vice President, Assortment Execution guides the centralized planning team for all ROA brands, and is a key product champion, responsible for developing and executing the retail inventory planning and allocation strategy.
The Vice President, Assortment Execution develops and drives new capabilities in inventory optimization, emerging inventory management technologies such as RFID, and space planning to improve brand sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspires the team to share in the vision of company/department goals.
• Creates a culture of recognition and celebration of others’ contributions.
• Leads/coordinates cross functional activities with other leaders across the organization.
• Develops direct reports and builds strong succession plans.
• Leads the development of strategic sales planning in collaboration with product, marketing and finance.
• Oversight of development of annual and monthly Brand sales plans at Store Segment level to deliver strategic initiatives.
• Oversight of development of Brand receipt plans to support sales and inventory turn plans.
• Directs the balance, proportion and distortion of inventory strategies to deliver great customer experience, drive sales and maximize profit.
• Directs markdown & promotional strategies to drive margin and protect brand equity.
• Makes inventory distortion decisions to meet consumer needs and drive sales.
• Governs delivery of inventory plans through management of assortment targets.
• Develops strategies to maximize store in-stock service level to maximize sales & consumer’s needs.
• Recommends segment brand portfolio to meet consumer needs.
• Recommends the assortment guidelines by brand / segment to optimize sales and inventory productivity
• Supports localized assortments through consumer & product attribute based store clustering.
• Drives sales & optimizes inventory through recalls, store to store transfers, and value added services from Distribution Center.
• Provides store segment analytics and insights in partnership with Merchandising Planning and the Global Product Assortment Team to drive sales and optimize inventory.
• Shares best practices across Merchandise Planning & Allocation organization.
• Co-leads cross brand business process operations team that delivers services to build a common operating platform across all retail businesses.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance, engineering or equivalent experience
• 15+ years work experience in retail planning, inventory management, or supply chain
• Leadership positions in merchandise planning, store or space planning, optimization / strategy, supply chain and systems
• Experience implementing ERP, planning systems and custom built software
• Ability to build strong relationships across a global organization
• Ability to create a strong organization (performance, development, learning, engagement)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience working in international specialty retailing
• Previous experience working for an omni/multichannel retailer
• Previous experience in operations or merchandising
