Design Your Future at PVH
Designer III - PVH Corp.
As our Designer III - 3D Design Super User, you will lead the way of 3D design within the Heritage division. Creating 3D content for your own designs and helping other designers excel in 3D. You must be able to work independently and create new designs each season for our European partners in all categories of apparel.
The day to day would entail solution thinking for the team using 3D design and providing instruction and possible work arounds and proposals for improving processes as well as designing entire line for our European partners as an extension of our US line for IZOD.
Responsibilities:
CREATION
• Digital Design - Utilize exceptional digital creation skills to enable the creation of original, innovative concepts and designs that appropriately reflect design philosophy and lead the industry.
PROCESS INNOVATION
• Closely collaborate with the division design team to establish tools and best methods.
• Create and present assets that effectively communicate digital creation tools and processes to a variety of audiences.
• Identify key marketplace trends and develop recommendations to enhance the organizational position.
• Provide feedback to 3D leadership team on strategy and vision.
MENTORING
• Act as a digital tool and process mentor for division design team.
• Provide technical expertise and tactical support
• Set team and individual goals that align with departmental/functional goals. Provide digital learning opportunities for design teams.
• Connect to peers from other divisions to define best methods and align on process
• Dedicated in division 3D problem solver, seeks assistance from IT as needed.
DESIGN
• Create seasonal offering in the form of concise capsule collection mainly for EU marketplace. Must be proficient in all categories of business( woven tops and bottoms, knit tops and bottoms, sweaters, and outerwear)
• Create seasonal concept boards using imagery, fabric swatches, and garments for presentations; boards should be executed as physical boards or virtually using design software.
• Analyze past best sellers and re-interpret for future deliveries.
• Help create color palette using Pantone or ArchRoma colors as standard with design team
• Select pattern work and CAD pattern work for design development boards that follows correct leveraged fabric construction.
• Prepare fabric development sheets to be passed off to raw material sourcing group if needed.
• Create detailed garment sketches
• Develop garment and packaging trims in conjunction with design lead.
• Work with garment and fabric sourcing teams to ensure fabrications and garment details meet appropriate target prices.
• Present groupings at design development meetings ensuring to take notes on revisions and changes for balance of the area.
• After line adoption prepare information to be passed off to PDA for input into WEB PDM/PLM
• Responsible for all lab dip, knit down, and handloom commenting.
• Attend fittings to ensure fit is appropriate for the brand; notate all revisions that will need to be made to sketches and WEB PDM.
• Partner with manager to ensure samples are accurate and communicate any discrepancies to PDA and sourcing teams.
• Present portion of line to outside licensees
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: 6-8 years’ design experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Skills:
• Proficient in 3D digital design applications, Browzwear preferred
• Clear understanding of product development process
• Ability to continually expand expert knowledge of digital creation tools and processes staying current with the industry
• Passion for 3D apparel and innovation
• Open-mindedness for new technologies and eagerness to drive innovations
• Ambitious, motivated to go the extra mile and able to perform in a demanding work environment with challenging timelines
• Strong team player
• Ability to handle all product categories. Excellent taste level and color sensibility.
• Travel as necessary
