The Sales Audit Analyst will verify the accuracy and completeness of reported sales, ensuring that all forms of payment are received and reconciled with sales data in a timely manner. The Analyst will also ensure that corresponding general ledger balances are accurate and any necessary adjustments are made timely.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively participate in the month-end close process including preparing and analyzing account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain sub ledgers (ReconNet), including data integrity, balance file loading, data purge, and general ledger mapping.
• Review sales data to identify discrepancies and underlying causes
• Identify and resolve cash over/short, gift card and credit card discrepancies
• Partner with Store Operations and Loss Prevention to address operational or integrity concerns
• Prepare monthly dashboard reports of key Sales Audit metrics
• Gift Card Liability analytics and reporting to support our key business partners
• Assist with user testing for system releases and updates
• Coordinate and complete information requests for financial audits from finance business partners
• Responsible for performing and providing documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley internal control compliance
• Provide support for Financial Shared Services projects associated with process improvement
• Ability to assist and understand that the business is evolving to proactively identify opportunities
• Complete ad hoc reporting as requested by Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance Degree
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience required
• Experience with Oracle, AS400, Lawson, Trintech bank reconciliation package and Island Pacific is a plus
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook, Reporting Tool (Winview, Access, Cognos), Masking Applications & Internet applications
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
• Takes on challenges with a positive attitude, communicates well and is adaptable
