This highly visible position is responsible for managing store labor (the largest expense item on the brand’s P&L) for Banana Republic Specialty and Factory stores in North America. This includes managing 2 Sr Analysts (one for each channel) through traditional FP&A responsibilities of budget, forecast and close, as well as providing strategic and analytical support for various ad-hoc initiatives and proactively identifying opportunities along with recommendations.This position reports directly to the Director of the Field Finance team and frequently interacts with both headquarters and field upper leadership.
Description of Responsibilities:
·Lead direct reports to maintain a highly functioning team and support their development
·Provide team with appropriate levels of direction, support, empowerment, development and recognition
·Effectively manage Store Payroll and Benefits expenses for the fleet and own development and communication of monthly financial forecasts/close that accurately predict business performance and highlight key issues for management.
·Oversee the development of the annual budget and long range plans for Store Payroll and Benefits that meet all FP&A requirements, are aligned with BR strategies, and incorporate input from key business partners.
·Develop the strategy and provide the required analytical support to recommend new and different ways of managing labor in a constantly changing business environment.
·Partner with various field and HQ business partners to support, analyze and pilot various labor related initiatives.
·Identify key drivers of risk and opportunity and proactively investigate and develop recommendations to mitigate risk or capture opportunities.
·Completely understand and manage the labor model; ensuring it has the highest level of data integrity (e.g. store attributes, time standards, weekly forecast and budget data inputs).
Qualifications:
·Must have strong technical skills and the ability to learn, troubleshoot and own/manage highly complicated models. Must be extremely proficient in Excel and Essbase. Experience with Gap Inc. data sources a plus. Strong technical aptitude including the ability to learn company systems and tools.
·Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent required. MBA a plus.
·3-5 years of retail Finance and/or Operations experience required.
·Desire to provide excellent customer service.
·Proven ability to drive results.
·Proven ability to build relationships, influence decisions and work collaboratively with functional partners
·Ability to understand broad business issues while completing detailed project work
·Passion, energy and enthusiasm to drive results with a team-oriented approach
·Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with other groups, as necessary
·Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment
·Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, to prioritize, and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment.
·Must be highly detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into a cohesive framework.
·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with all levels of management.
