Position Overview:
The Marketing Brand Manager within Color (reporting to the Director, Brand Management Color) will be responsible for managing and growing their respective brands and product lines cross-category. Beauty categories span color, fragrance, body, haircare and skincare. Their work will focus on developing a compelling innovation pipeline of new initiatives through close collaboration with a multi-functional Avon team. They are also responsible for development of brand strategy & guidelines shaping innovation activity and helping inform activation to guide the merchant execution of brochures, as well as eCommerce, social and PR activation programs from a sales representative and consumer perspective.
Responsibilities:
Brand Management
• Serve as a passionate steward, advocate and gatekeeper for brand/product. Develop strategic guidance for each brand in the portfolio to provide other teams to work with for activation purposes.
Representative, Customer & Consumer understanding, segmentation & targeting
• Significantly invest in understanding the dynamics of the Avon business to effectively be able to translate insights into innovation and activation program execution. Work with cross functional teams and key external partners to ‘get under the skin’ of Rep life and be their champion to develop fuel (product & content) for their businesses.
Innovation & New product development
• Dive right into Avon’s current Innovation work, taking project leadership on designated programs. Demonstrate strong project management skills to drive a cross-functional team to deliver fast, impactful and meaningful innovation to the business.
Tactical Plans & Activation
• Input into a comprehensive Marketing and promotion planning whose initiatives and activities help Avon Representatives drive consumer acquisition and retention. Build critical relationships with other marketing activation team members across PR, Social, dot.com, Sales Development and the Merchandising team. Be the brand guardian and voice of the representative to ensure maximum impact of the programs that support building a strong, sustainable brand portfolio.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required
• A minimum of ten years’ brand marketing experience within the beauty industry, preferably Color
• Proven ability to innovate, develop new products and manage projects
• Proficiency in understanding Beauty competitors especially within the Direct Selling space
• Documented history of performing research and identifying trends and market gaps to help drive global product innovation.
• Extensive technical expertise in modeling, quantitative/analytical techniques, forecasting and finance. Knowledge of automated systems for statistical analysis and tracking of commercial data.
