Photo Studio Manager – Women’s Ecomm
Overview
The Photo Studio Manager – Women’s Ecomm is responsible for maintaining and improving studio set operations, including the management of merchandise samples and their assets within the women’s studio, assuring product moves through the studio process in an organized and efficient manner.
This role is key in production and the delivery of assets by working cross functionally with the buying and studio teams for the successful execution of the UO creative vision.
Responsibilities
Management + Prioritization
• Ensure smooth movement of samples through styling, photography, and return to copy vs samples kept.
• Be the main studio contact for merchant requests.
• Develop strong partnership with women’s product divisions, the buyers, merchandizing teams, and studio directors to communicate product distribution needs.
• Prioritize product and communicate urgencies to the styling team to assure priority items get shot first.
• Collaborate with editors, art directors, and post production team to ensure live priorities.
Sample Handoff + Tracking
• Attend Weekly Handoffs for all categories within the Women’s Studio, verifying product received is in line with handoff sheets.
• Make note of any errors, and ensure these errors are correct by the buyers in a timely manner.
• Consolidate weekly buyer handoff sheets and publish to a shared studio document for accurate sample tracking within the photo studio, to be updated on a daily basis.
• Own and manage handoff and sample movement processes in coordination with the Studio Director, keeping a mindset of constant improvement.
• Partner with buyers in properly executing established handoff processes.
• Track what is being shot on each set, and product count per set.
• Track sample availability against daily/weekly shot list and update product changes as required.
• Manage sample/styling library/inventory for receiving, and loss prevention.
• Own styling cleanout management and bay cleanout.
• Manage the return of samples to Copy Team on a weekly basis.
• Update MTS when product is received, when it is shot, and keep visibility where the samples are currently in the studio process.
• Communicate with customs/classification regarding sample location.
• Work with Studio Director to establish processes for automation in sample tracking (when appropriate).
Sample Handoff + Tracking
• Communicate product status (shot, not shot, images ready) to the web production team as regular reporting.
• Regular reviews of the site, assuring all assets and information is correct.
• Report Monthly Studio Projections.
• Own Weekly Photo Studio Handoff Meetings.
Qualifications
• Detail Oriented with exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-Starter with the ability to multi-task, working on a variety of projects at one time.
• 5 years + project management/coordination experience in a fast-paced studio setting.
• Sample management tracking experience a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a team setting.
• Ability to anticipate challenges and resolve by using appropriate resources.
• Adaptable to changing priorities.
• Excel and Spreadsheet skills.
• Adobe CC – Particularly Photoshop and InDesign Skills.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Photography, or a related field.
