Designer - Women's Catalog
We are seeking a Designer to join our award-winning multichannel creative team. This role will focus on print design and execution of the direct-to-consumer catalog for our women’s category. We want someone to quickly learn and take command of the Orvis lifestyle & brand, and know how to connect with our customers through creative presentations that drive us into our future.

Company Interfaces:
Reports to the Design Manager – Catalog located in Sunderland, Vermont. Interfaces daily with Creative department team members, as well as Merchandising, Inventory Management, and Marketing. This role has no direct reports.
Performance Measurements:
• Successful sell through and positioning of products while staying true to the brand
• Apply brand and style guidelines across assigned projects
General Responsibilities
• Create the overall customer experience for Women’s Direct Mail and other projects as assigned in alignment to project briefs
• Partner with merchants and inventory on product presentation and spacing allocation
• Create/design compelling and innovative ways to present product and brand stories that increase brand relevance and quality of the customer experience
• Communicate design/photo direction and changes
• Partner with copy writers in the development of product and brand stories
• Select photography (in-house and stock) for each project and submit for approval and/or purchase
• Approve final hi-res proofs (where applicable) for each project

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in designing beautiful and effective customer experiences; creating winning concepts that will connect with our customers
• Expert-level ability in the following areas:
• Typography as appropriate for the Orvis brand
• InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• User experience design principles in all mediums
• Color theory/ usage and photographic composition
• Presentation layer technologies for the digital products
• Publishing processes and best practices in all mediums
• Photography planning and direction
• BA, BFA or proven equivalent of professional experience.
