Interns are placed in key departments and work closely with a dedicated team who provide mentorship and support while educating them on the aspects of our business that are unique to that department.
Our program is designed to provide real life business experience that enhances academic learning. We offer the opportunity to learn about our business from the inside, to network with industry executives and to gain invaluable insight through challenging projects.
The diversity of our operations has recently created an opportunity for a Store Operations Intern located at our New York offices. This student will have the opportunity to work with the ops team on a number of day-to-day operational responsibilities, as well as a few larger-scale projects. The student will gain experience communicating and collaborating with cross functional partners, managing competing priorities and reacting to changes in these priorities. The student will spend time working with a broad audience (the field), as well as working with corporate partners to filter and repackage their messages. Additionally, the student will have the opportunity to work on operational projects, helping to sculpt procedures for the field organization and understanding / getting a sneak peek into the reasoning behind policy and decision making.
GOALS OF INTERNSHIP:
The student will have the opportunity to increase understanding of / skills in cross-functional partnership and communication, communicating with small and large groups in written communication, retail operational processes and planning.
Accountabilities:
• The store operations intern will have the opportunity to write store focused communications, such as promotional changes, event details, and policy changes
• Work closely with the marketing team on reviewing in-store marketing assets including but not limited to,
◦ Signage and marketing requests
◦ Coupon offer approval and communications
◦ All-store promotional distribution list
◦ Following up on tracking for signage as needed
• Contact stores via email or telephone for follow-up
• Assist to maintain the Field Planning Calendar, the Our Stores page of The Thread, Task Manager, and other tools as needed
• Collaborate with the Store Ops team to update, reviewing all policies and making updates as needed
• Support the day-to-day business of the Store Operations team
• Document management on our company intranet
Skills/Requirements
• Student should have good written communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of Microsoft office (excel, word, PowerPoint)
• Interest in Social Media/Fashion blogging
• Problem solving, critical thinking
• Candidate must be a current student enrolled in the process of seeking a degree
