Position Overview:
This role is responsible for leading the planning and execution of key procurement strategies across all organization-wide spend. Manage team members who focus on Contract Manufacturing, Direct Materials (Components, Raw Ingredients, etc.) and Indirect spend (secondary focus).
Utilize industry expertise (Beauty, Pharmaceutical, CPG, or Management Consulting preferred) and professional vendor relationships to streamline the sourcing process utilizing internal manufacturing facility and contract manufacturers.
Ensure effective use of budgets and continue to drive savings, value and further efficiencies. Drive in the ongoing development of the company-wide procurement processes and partner with all levels of leadership cross-functionally to build impactful, efficient and cost effective vendor relationships. Total spend responsibility is approximately $500MM.
• Effectively work with functional and business groups as a trusted advisor to determine desired product/service specifications and projected demand when making recommended action plans • Drive sourcing, negotiating and contracting activities across areas of responsibility • Liaison with Business controllers to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting. • Execute process excellence in procurement controls and systems • Implement all procurement policies and procedures in conjunction with function leaders
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Lead, develop and manage sourcing and vendor management strategies across a highly varied spend area to deliver value: Contract Manufacturing • Direct Materials • Professional Services • Sales and Marketing • Freight and Logistics • Facilities and MRO • Print and Paper • IT and Telecom
Develop Sourcing strategies for spend that support business goals: Develop category strategies in tandem with all relevant business stakeholders which fully leverage all spend opportunities • Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future pricing, availability and capacity of goods and services • Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and make recommendations for future investments while identifying possible savings opportunities • Translate strategic plans into short term actions • Prepare, lead and execute the Strategic Sourcing process • Negotiate with prospective vendors on matters of price, scope and performance, to secure the best overall value • Contract with vendors in order to secure optimal terms and conditions in tandem with legal
Manage and develop vendors to drive value and innovation: Manage relationships with Strategic and Critical vendors to promote opportunities and innovation • Form strong relationships with select vendor partners • Lead select vendor performance reviews • Define apply and monitor commercial terms, SLAs, KPIs, etc. • Lead resolution of any escalation of issues with vendors
Exercise strong Business Partnering skills: Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships with Merchandising, Marketing, Package Engineering, Quality, Finance • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (up to C level) to ensure business needs are being addressed • Partner with other cross-functional leaders to implement functional processes and identify organizational improvement opportunities • Act as escalation point and subject matter expert for both internal and external parties
System And Process Management Oversee the completion of projects and enhancements related to the procure to pay processes • Create strong partnership with Finance team; leverage this partnership to develop cross-functional training initiatives and end-to-end process improvements • Provide consultation, training, documentation and guidance regarding procurement support-related processes, procedures and applications • Enforce adherence to global, regional or local standards, where applicable • Oversee the establishment, creation and distribution of metrics and reports relating to the procurement function • Identify opportunities for process improvements; design and oversee / implement these improvements as required • Ensure master data management to drive spend analysis tool and data quality • Originate new concepts and innovative approaches for the organization
People and Personal Development Reporting to Executive Director, Sourcing • Support the development of direct report(s) • Ensures effective Performance Management through the creation of Personal Development Plans: working on the development targets formulated in this plan throughout the year to improve competencies and skills. • Embed key knowledge requirement in line with functional competencies.
