Job Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements
Reporting to the Director of Wholesale Merchandising, the Product Merchandising Analyst will drive influence and identify assortment planning opportunities that align with UGG’s overall growth initiatives by elevating the analytics capabilities on the Merchandising team. As a key player within the merchandising function, the Product Merchandising Analyst utilizes an in-depth understanding of retail metrics and generating actionable insights that assist in shaping, validating, and/or challenging Wholesale product strategies from concept to launch.
• Possesses a keen ability to tell the product “story” thru a lens of facts, insights, retail metrics, and analysis.
• In support of the Wholesale merchants, this role provides pre-season, in-season, and post-mortem analysis that influence assortment planning strategies.
• Delivers sku optimization guidance, bookings and sell-thru review, and any and all relevant metrics necessary leading up to the line review process.
• Provides actionable insights and analysis on consumer trends, retail landscape dynamics, and any other relevant influencers that affect consumer decisions.
• Partners directly with the Wholesale merchants, as well as with cross-functional leaders, to include collaborating with Sales and Product, and to ensure alignment on category strategies and priorities.
• Provides pricing and ROI analysis that will aide in determining the lifecycle of all products. Recommends pricing strategies that maximize profitability, while also being both brand-enhancing and commercially competitive in the marketplace.
• Assists in developing regionally specific segmentation and differentiation opportunities across multiple channels.
• Utilizes analysis and key reporting metrics to support and validate product feedback.
• Ensures assortment and product positioning are consistent with UGG DNA and brand direction.
• When applicable, attend key account meetings, trade shows, and market visits to gain a better understanding of retailer needs.
Education & Experience
• Bachelors Degree or experience in a related field in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience within a planning function, preferably within a branded environment
• Footwear or apparel merchandising experience
• Expertise with SPS or Retailer Sell-through date required
• Knowledge of retail analytics and key metrics
• Current computer software proficiency ; Advanced expertise in Excel required
