Sr Director Planning, Men’s Underwear – The Underwear Group
The Sr Director of Planning is responsible for driving the Men’s Underwear wholesale business with an emphasis on productivity and profitability. He or she will partner with cross-functional teams in ensuring continued growth in the U.S. The Sr Director of Planning will also foster employee development for his or her direct reports.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
• Develop season budgets by account
• Develop supporting season strategic business plans
• Develop seasonal merchandise gross margin components and objectives at department and program/style level
• Report to Senior Management opportunities/issues by brand/account that exist in sales, markdowns, allowances etc.
• Supervises/manages team of analysts
• Assisting them with the formation of sales plans and wholesale budgets
• Create/manage price ladders to ensure our financial objectives are met
• Create and manage by door plans
• Analyze in season selling by account/total division. Make in season business/mark down recommendations
• Manage department allowance budget
• Own monthly ship spread process
• Ensure EDI business is maximized and projected accurately
• Maximize inventory flow to improve turn and sell off percent
• Identify sales opportunities through effective strategic planning and execution that achieve financial goals
• Re-project monthly sales and markdowns based on trends, receipt flow and promotions
• Collaborate with Sales and Merchandising to develop class assortments by account
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
5-7 years Director Retail Analysis and/or DMM Buying
Education:Bachelor’s degree or 5 years related experience
Skills:
• Strong communication, analytical and decision-making skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Solid understanding of retail financials including margin, allowance calculations along with a strong retail planning background (OTB, by door sales, turn)
