Job Description
Position Summary
The Director of Ecommerce will be a key leader who provides leadership and vision to define and drive the Ecommerce business for PacSun and will report to the VP of Ecommerce. The incumbent will manage and own operations, site performance and testing, and will also work closely with the Digital Marketing team to optimize acquisition performance. In addition, this person will be responsible for analyzing and determining key opportunities and insights to drive growth and meet goals. This person should already have strong experience and skills in leading Ecommerce teams through innovation, technology, merchandising, and digital marketing.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Take a strategic view of the digital commerce landscape, keeping current with industry best practices and trends to maintain and improve conversion rates
• Lead a talented team of ecommerce professionals providing vision, direction and guidance.
• Optimize the experience on existing site to improve conversion and increase repeat purchases.
• Maintain positive open lines of communication with all brand leadership and other key contacts across many internal departments in order to inform, build partnerships and further evangelize the importance of the digital space.
• Oversee UX/UI concept development, strategizing, planning, implementation, and coordinating of Ecommerce initiatives.
• Maintain a smooth production process, enabling the efficient handling of hundreds of updates and improvements to the sites' functionality and design throughout each year.
• Continue to drive a multi-channel focus, presenting a unified, customer-centric view of our brand, consistent across the brick-and-mortar and digital spaces.
• Work closely with digital marketing team to analyze and develop effective landing page strategies
• Influence the fulfillment and returns handling aspects of the ecommerce business.
• Discover and execute opportunities based on historical results & current trends to maximize sales.
Requirements
• 4 Year related degree, MBA preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Ecommerce and management
• A proven track record of building a successful ecommerce business in a complex environment
• Strong business and data analysis skills
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant change
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage a diverse team and work cross functionally
• Experience in contract negotiation and vendor/partner management
• Experience in the apparel business is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of merchandising, direct marketing and sales principles, along with strong general management and leadership skills
