Title:Transportation Associate
Reports To: Senior Transportation Coordinator
General Summary: Transportation Associate is responsible for analyzing and reporting on Transportation spend, performance levels, carrier issues and vendor issues. They are also responsible for assisting the Domestic Transportation team with field and carrier support related to store deliveries, non-product deliveries and service provider processes from Michael Kors DC’s to ensure best in class delivery performance.
Position Responsibilities:
• Provide transportation needs for new store openings which meet construction/design operational needs.
• Manage Non-Product shipments including bids, awarding of shipments and ensure MK delivery requests are properly followed.
• Evaluate, monitor and benchmark carrier performance levels on a weekly basis.
• Liaison between Store Operations, Carriers, Vendors, General Contractors, Construction Project Managers and Distribution Center.
• Create, report and distribute analysis of Non Product Transportation spend and carrier performance.
• Manage carrier invoice statements verifying all MK accounts are up to date.
• Provide analysis on non-product actual costs to budgets as well as trending of any vendor issues. Provide solutions.
• Provide and analyze weekly Excel based department reporting, supplying analysis and recommendations on trending and solving issues.
• Research and file carrier claims including research and processing payments.
• Log, audit, process and code Domestic Transportation invoices.
• Various ad hoc analyses as required.
• Assist other Domestic Transportation team areas when needed
• Partner with 3rd party freight Audit Company to analyze freight payments and auditing of invoices. Work with vendors on solving invoicing issues and timing
Position Requirements:
• Minimum 1 -2 years of experience in similar operations, analytical position and/or transportation area.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills required along with proficient MS Office
• Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and project management skills
• Flexible, organized, team player
• Available on call during off hours to assist with carrier and construction issues
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
