See all that beautiful imagery on the ModCloth site? As an Associate Graphic Designer here, you’ll be the one creating it! Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer and collaborating with designers, writers, and other teams company-wide, you’ll create everything from stunning emails and captivating promotional creative, to delightful Instagram stories and engaging digital ads. How, you ask? Well, with your exceptional skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, of course! Through all you do—wireframing,brainstorming, collaboration, creating designs, and the like—you’ll multitask like a pro and juggle various projects seamlessly.
Responsibilities:
• Work within existing brand guidelines to create a variety of design assets, including site assets, ads, email, social, print, blog, etc
• Chip in with ideas for seasonal campaigns and collaborate with the creative team to define concepts
• Maintain the visual integrity of the brand by going above and beyond through close attention to detail
• Be an eternal student - continuously evolve your already sweet skills, knowledge of design trends, and techniques through research and tutorials
• Participate in team critiques of work-in-progress designs by both giving and receiving feedback on projects as they develop
• Bust out your superb time management skills to complete projects not only by their deadline, but with time to do revisions as necessary
• Foster a demonstrated love for constructive criticism (both giving and receiving) and collaboration
• Think about the direction and evolution of the ModCloth brand and what that means for design
Requirements - Design Expertise:
• Degree in Graphic Design or related major
• Experience designing for web across multiple channels
• Stellar skills in the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Crystal clear understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and general design
• Understanding of branding concepts
• Uncanny awareness of current trends in digital design, fashion, and retail communities
• An almost unhealthy passion for great design
Collaboration:
• Mastery of multitasking
• Experience working with and giving feedback to other designers
Marketing:
• A basic understanding of marketing trends, terms, and strategy
• Ability to distill and present information to non-creatives
• Superlative written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Nice to Have:
• Design firm or e-commerce experience
• Love of fashion
• Experience with project management tools, specifically Workfront
• Familiarity with the film The Babadook
• Knowledge of the ModCloth brand
• Natural ability and proclivity for designing and illustrating in multiple styles
• Handy with a dSLR
• Understanding of retouching standards and techniques
• Proficiency in After Effects, Sketch, and Google Docs
• Experience designing for print
