Director, Purpose & Community Activation: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family
In this role you will be responsible for driving the necessary activities to integrate the VF Purpose across VF and to drive its success. This role will engage our global associates, communities, brands and key stakeholders in helping to achieve the company’s Purpose.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide the enterprise with the expertise, tools and resources to activate our Purpose and mobilize the organization in the development and implementation of programs to bring it to activate the Purpose across the company and into the communities where the company does business.
• PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT– Develop an integrated strategy to support VF in realizing its stated Purpose.In collaboration with key stakeholders across brands and corporate business functions, drive the development and execution of Purpose-related programs that are consistent with VF’s business strategy and objectives of its purpose work. Expand and elevate the company’s understanding and expectations of consumers, customers, employees, investors, and the broader society with respect to creating a movement dedicated to sustainable and active lifestyles.
• ASSOCIATE ACTIVATION-Develop Purpose-driven associate engagement programs to inspire individuals and teams of people to and activate and sustain Purpose-related activities. Work in collaboration with HR and functional leaders to design programs that create actions that engage associates, consumers, shareholders, customers and other key stakeholders.
• BRAND ALIGNMENT –Support and track brand Purpose-led efforts. Support brand efforts in their own Purpose work, while ensuring connection with VF Purpose work.
• VF FOUNDATION –Support VF’s Foundation efforts to distribute funds strategically across the business and regions to ensure our Purpose is supported.
• STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS - Build strategic relationships with key constituency groups at the local, national, and international level. Work with social, political, and key environmental leaders whose work is aligned with our Company Purpose work and priorities. Prioritize the partners who can assist in assessing and understanding the needs and opportunities of our Purpose. Support the shaping and sharing of the company’s global story and the impact of work being done across the organization to improve lives and communities
• LEADERSHIP - Provide leadership necessary to achieve success of VF’s Purpose program. Develop the trust, respect and partnerships required to facilitate change at the brand, company and industry level. Work within the industry to support and contribute to the progression of our sustainability and Purpose work. Develop relationships and promote collaborations when appropriate with competitors, peers, customers, suppliers, NGO’s, governments, etc.
How You Will Make a Difference:
• Create program strategies and implementation and evaluation plans for the program. Proven ability to support an integrated strategy across a multi-national company. Conduct and provide research, trends analysis, business case support and general consultation to business leaders that drive the strategy and implementation.
• Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop and advance the company’s Purpose program. Provide the company with the expertise, tools and resources that support Purpose integration and implementation to achieve VF’s business goals.
• Collaborate with key external stakeholders such as academia, NGO’s, and industry groups to build momentum and activities around the Purpose. Share best practices, develop innovation opportunities, and leverage new technology to progress the VF Purpose forward. Be the connective tissue between VF and key stakeholders on these areas.
• Support proactive communication throughout the company as it pertains to celebrating Purpose activities and achievements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide educational seminars and tools, encourage dialogue across the company, and share experiences and learnings.
• Ensure programs are being measured, tracked, reported and analyzed in a systematic and methodical manner. Manage budgets and teams appropriately.
• Work with and support the S&R Leadership Team, Purpose Ambassadors and Senior Leadership Team on programs to enhance the overall global platform.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 12+ years
• BS / BA Degree
• Leadership skills: Experience managing teams and working within global enterprise.
• Excellent organizational & project management skills.
• Excellent communication & presentation skills (must be comfortable working with all levels of management).
• Proven experience in large global business situations.
• Experience in employee engagement, communication and corporate programming.
• Proven experience leading programs and engaging with Senior leadership.
• Excellent presentation and speaking skills in small and large group settings.
• International travel.
