Basic Purpose:
The Print Art Director is responsible for executing print creative - from concepting and layout design, to art release and post-production stages. This position works closely with senior creatives and partnering teams to develop and maintain a high visual standard in the overall look of all printed materials, and ensures that design responsibilities are completed on time.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Design layouts that bridge the creative concepts, merchandising and marketing strategies, resulting in a visually impactful and engaging brand shopping experience — fashion editorial-quality layouts with sophisticated type design and c
• Develop new ideas – overall look & feel with appropriate swipe, layout design and copy trea Participate in concept meetings for upcoming seasonal campaigns. Bring fresh ideas and newness to each project, while always staying on-brand and mindful of the Talbots customer.
• Collaborate with Photo team and Fashion Editors prior to photo shoot, to ensure a unified creative vision of product presentation in la
• Place dailies from photo shoot into la Follow shot sheet and collaborate with Copywriter to ensure that product information is represented clearly and accurately in the layouts. Update layouts to reflect changes to product presentation or fashion styling. Design and place editorial & promotional copy in layouts.
• Refine and prepare layouts for executive review proc Execute revisions as needed, working closely with Senior Creatives on layout re-designs and new photo edits for follow-up review rounds.
• Work with Copy team and Graphic Production to tighten up and finalize layouts for r Review bluelines to ensure that layouts are clean and design specs/standards are met.
• Work with ACD, Graphic Production, and Print Production during art release proc Provide clear and detailed retouching direction on all catalog photography via PDF mark- ups. Integrate retouching input from Senior Creatives and Fashion Editors into mark-ups.
• Execute related design projects in addition to catalog creative, such as mailers and promotional Provide support on seasonal campaign/concept presentations.

Education/Experience/Knowledge:
• College degree
• 5+ years related experience
• Retail/fashion brand experience desired
• Expert in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Bridge.
