Dir - Marketing (Carol's Daughter)
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for driving category growth for the US market through the development of a new product panier, renovation of pillar products, developing and executing business processes while creating and implementing long and short term strategies for the brand.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Product Development:
• Define 3 year panier
Research and define trends for the category and efficiencies and propose solutions
Product Development:

Research and define trends for the category
Influence other departments to meet brand development goals
Work with CMI to conduct extensive market research of the US market to decode consumer insights; identify trends and propose strategies
Own financial process for P&L impact of new products
Work with R&I and Development teams on reforms
Act as formulation and technology experts within category
New Product Launches:
• Ownership and responsibility for supervising entire go to market process across multiple launches- shopper, social, media, education, etc.
Participate in selling project to management at large
Generate long term strategic development
Collaborate with Creative to create launch materials including merchandising and sampling
Strategy Planning:
• Drive the research, analysis, category trends and insights to develop long term strategy
Oversee and guide plans development and create vision for businesses
Contribute to total category strategy / plans
Sales/Trade Marketing:
• Work with Sales leadership to ensure key account plans are aligned with brand strategies
Review account specific events/plans
Present in internal Sales Meetings/workshops
Financial P&L and Forecasting:
• Ownership of entire process
Understand and manage financial implication of forecast (i.e.) E10 and Full year number
Own accuracy of all budgets and roll up of total category with finance
Manage budget allocation between spending buckets and brands with peers
Promotions/Advertising/ Media:
• Strategically contribute to advertising creative
As necessary, manage the advertising development process
As necessary, Guide agency and advertising development
Influence media recommendation and direction
Meeting Management:
• Develop and drive meeting agenda for meetings
Ensure quality of all materials being presented
Effectively present to senior management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
• BA degree required.
7+ years of Industry related marketing work experience (consumer package goods or beauty)
Experience working collaboratively with R&D on a new product or renovation
Experience successfully launching and managing a new product or renovation through its entire life cycle
Prior experience in Operational Marketing
Experience managing challenging projects that may not have been successful
Experience or exposure to international assignments
Competencies:
• Brand Administration: create project plan according to panier portfolio gaps; in-depth knowledge of brand equity and management
Product Development: partner with PD team to advise in concept writing, formula briefing and evaluation, packaging development and budget
Market Research: ability to read and interpret research data
Leadership: Demonstration of leadership with team; support departments and customers (ie Creative)
Cross-cultural knowledge
Skills:
PC Proficiency (Microsoft Suite)
Demonstrated Marketing Brand Management skills and techniques
Proven multi-project / team-oriented managerial skills
Previous Supervisory role(s)
Previous development and/or launch management skills
Flexibility
Affirmative sensitivity to the métier / appreciation for our business
Excellent Interpersonal Skills (written and oral)
