We are looking for a Designer who will bring innovation, creativity and spunk to our team. It is important to us this person has the energy and desire to help bring our fashion to the future while maintaining the integrity of our brand’s past.
The notable responsibilities of the Designer are:
• Develop seasonal design platforms and concepts
• Identify consumer relevant product opportunities through market research
• Create fit, fabric, finish, sundries and trim developments
• Design products that achieve or exceed targets for the seasonal calendar, assortment plan and source location requirements
• Sustain effective partnerships with Merchandising, Product Development and Sourcing to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals
• Execute direction given by senior designers and directors as part of the global guidelines
• May coach lower level designers
What the Designer already has:
• Bachelor’s degree in Design in a HUGE plus, however a combination of college education and related work experience may be used as a substitute
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a designer, responsible and accountable for all facets of design and development
• Demonstrated success in creating commercially viable and profitable product designs
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, textiles, finishing techniques and processes
• Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
• Expert knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Extremely strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task; with the desire to work in a very fast paced environment and an ability to not become frustrated with last minute changes
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills; especially when it comes to working directly with senior level directors
• Impeccable communication skills across all channels with an ability to get the message across over IM, email, phone, text, smoke signals, Morse code and carrier pigeon - all at the same instance
• Excellent discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy
• Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly
• Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion and interest in LS & Co.
