Are you a current undergraduate student or have you recently graduated in the past 6 months? Are you available to join our team from June 19th to August 17th, 2018? During this full-time internship, we expect interns to work an average of 40 hrs/week at our Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA and be available for the entirety of the 9-week program.
About the role:
The Business Development Intern will focus on creating an actionable list of influencers and brands that TOMS could/should collaborate with to drive brand heat, awareness and revenue sales.
Over the course of the 9-week program, the intern can expect to walk away with a gained awareness and knowledge of how to apply strategic insight and planning to create a product/programs that ultimately drive brand and sales lift for businesses. They will achieve this goal by putting forth ideas based on macro and micro trends and consumption habits of themselves and their peer demographic. The ideal candidate will have an interest in business development and a keen understanding of business acumen.
Here’s what you’ll do:
• Create and maintain a list of brands and influencers that could serve as potential TOMS collaborators
• Build business cases to identify, assess and validate a potential partnership/collaboration using strategic analysis framework
• Work cross functionally with various departments to better understand their needs to drive business results through collaborations and partnerships; outline and propose strategies specific to the department to meet and/or exceed their objectives
• Serve as an arbiter of Gen Z trends, brands and influencers
• Poll peers to better understand what content will move the needle for TOMS based on insights and/or market trends

• Pop culture awareness – you’re up to date on the who’s who of Instagram and Youtube
• Marketing or Business background a plus
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 25lbs of product or office supplies – we all pitch in where we can
