JanSport: Web Designer
POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Marketing team, the Web Designer will be responsible for designing and implementing content on jansport.com and email marketing using the site’s content management system. The Web Designer is responsible for creating a web presence that effectively communicate the global brand voice, technologies and product information. The Designer creates new pages in HTML and new on-site promotional spots (jpg) in partnership with the Ecommerce team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to Brand Marketing and works closely ECOM teams to ensure web presence has a consistent creative direction and brand identity with other marketing vehicles. Ensures that all collateral complies with the global brand standards. Develops fully integrated online campaigns for JanSport.com that extent to online advertising, emails, social media, events and other digital formats. Developing and reviewing commerce and Brand pages throughout jansport.com using CMS. Developing creative as needed for wholesale partners to promote the JanSport Brand online. Serves as the design lead on multiple projects simultaneously.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
• 3 - 5 years of related professional experience.
• BA/BS degree in Business, Graphic Design, Marketing/Advertising, Online Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in developing and maintaining best-in-class websites.
• Passion for design and the internet.
• Ability to design multiple concepts with different looks for the same project.
• A firm grounding in design principles, an understanding of information design and hierarchies as well as experience and understanding of typography and design theory.
• Outstanding HTML/ Photoshop skills.
• Strong team orientation and progressive thinking are required.
• Expertise in a broad range of disciplines (retail branding, advertising and brand identity).
• Must possess effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have good presentation skills with the ability to articulate the strategy behind design concepts and how those concepts meet the strategic objectives.
• Possess strong conceptual/verbal skills.
• Be highly organized.
• Have extensive experience managing and estimating personal time outlays for each project.
• Requires advanced skills and experience in visual design and awareness of current technologies.
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, and Excel are essential.
• Possess a strong design portfolio in a marketing or studio environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments.
