Your Role
Fossil is seeking a Senior Strategy & Corporate Development Manager. As a part of Fossil’s Wearables Strategy & Corporate Development team, this person will play a key role in developing and implementing a multi-year corporate development roadmap that is well aligned with our strategic plan. This person will support and
often lead discussions with target companies, due diligence, financial analysis, valuation and negotiations
of definitive legal and commercial agreements, as well as the development of integration plans. The Senior Strategy Manager will help identify strategic investment opportunities (targets) and communicate recommendations to senior leaders of Fossil Group. This person will support and often lead all aspects of the M&A process after a target has been aligned, including providing the required strategic direction to the function’s
internal as well as external resources. This person will also lead the assessment of legal, operational,
human resources, and investment strategy compatibility.
Responsibilities:
• Help design Corporate Development strategy and effectively communicates vision and mission to
senior leaders in the organization
• Support management of corporate development pipeline of potential targets for investment,
acquisition or strategic partnership in technology and wearables related arenas that meet critical
business growth and development areas aligned with Fossil Group’s strategic plan
• Work closely with and provides guidance to senior leaders in the evaluation of strategic corporate
development opportunities
• Own and drive the entire corporate development process: identifying and evaluating targets,
managing internal and external stakeholders/relationships, leading deal negotiations and due
diligence and executing on post-merger integration plans
• Identify and assess the effect of acquisitions/mergers/divestitures on current and future
functions/departments, and presents findings to senior leaders with validation scenarios
• Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders (including executives and senior
leaders), with the targeted company management teams, and with industry and professional
networks that can assist in identifying targets
• Identify and leverage lessons learned on previously completed transactions, including analysis of
post-acquisition financial performance
• Structure and conduct high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform and influence
decisions
• Support strategic planning and other critical decision-making processes
• Analyze and synthesize information across a variety of data sources to drive meaningful insights
and make actionable recommendations (market data, customer segmentation, internal sales trends, etc.)
Your Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
• Advanced degree in Master of Business Administration or Juris Doctor
• Minimum of 5-7 years of analytical experience as legal/business analyst/manager or related
experience in the consumer/retail industry
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced expertise of PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Results-focused, self-starter, and self-manager
• Strong understanding of legal agreements, financial statements and value levers
• Team player who works well cross-functionally with others at all levels of the organization
• Experience in a fast-paced team environment and comfortable in ambiguous and rapidly evolving
situations
• Able to structure complex problems in simple, easy-to-understand ways
Preferred experience:
• Management consulting experience with a top-tier company
• Consumer/retail experience
• Wearable technology experience
