Executive Director, International Sales & Business Development - MAC
Description
Provide strategic and tactical leadership and support to ensure M∙A∙C International’s short-term and long-term financial and market share goals are achieved. Focusing on initiatives across channel, consumer and category that will advance global and regional brand strategies and enhance consumer experience across geographies. Think about the international business across all dimensions and initiate projects and make recommendations to senior executives regarding business development opportunities. Work directly with Regional Vice Presidents and regional teams as well as Global functions on specific projects that will move the mark in our top priority markets/channels.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Act as deputy when Senior Vice President/General Manager (SVP/GM) is out of the office; interface credibly with internal and external teams to represent the International point of view; lead presentations at business meetings, and make requests of other departments to support the international business.
• Work in partnership with VP International Sales & Commercial Development to drive cohesive strategies across channel, consumer and category.
• Guide development three-year International Strategy; work with regions and global to identify and elaborate key issues, develop recommendations and action plans with a particular focus on priority markets and channel development/retailing.
• Support SVP/GM with information and insights into business KPI and special projects required for meetings with Executive Management.
• Meet with retailers and other International visitors to present international strategies and initiatives and help resolve business issues.
• Conduct market visits to understand market context, observe retail operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend ways to fuel additional growth
• Analyze problem areas with SVP to develop and implement effective and timely action plans
• Collaborate and communicate with all functional teams in head office to ensure the needs of the markets are understood
• Participate in monthly business reviews to identify risks and opportunities to the sales plan (e.g., forecasts, door openings, competitor activity)
• Collaborate with International Finance to identify opportunities to improve business reporting and processes and maximize the division’s efficiency
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•10+ years of marketing + commercial experience, preferably in the luxury/fast fashion/cosmetics goods industry
•University level required, MBA preferred.
•Leadership role in a global business; experience with all aspects of brand management.
•Strong financial background.
•Strong leadership capabilities and proven ability to work cross-functionally.
•Outstanding ability to multi-task, prioritize and drive timelines
•Exceptional and adaptable presentation, written and verbal communication skills to address different environments & audiences
•Ability to work consistently and urgently in a fast paced environment
•Basic understanding of the region’s economic, political, social, cultural, and business landscape and issues
