VP of Sales - Foot Locker
Purpose
• To develop the long-term strategy for assigned channel organization taking into consideration the market, the retailer and consumer insight balanced against adidas long-term commercial objectives.
Key Accountabilities
• Develop strategic plan for channel based on consumer needs and perceptions of the Brand and the U.S. Brand strategy
• Ensure robust set of account strategic plans that support overall channel strategy but reflect key differences in account positioning and consumer types
• Work closely with product, brand, and sports marketing to ensure winning concepts are developed and brought to the channel; drive sales perspective on range segmentation for the channel and for the specific accounts within the channel
• Manage full P&L for channel
• Influence cross-functionally with Heads of other adidas units (e.g., product creation and Go-to-Market) to capitalize on opportunities and develop and implement initiatives that will drive sustainable sell-thru and further relationships within the assigned channel
• Establish and develop direct relationships with key accounts within channel, e.g. management, buyers and staff
• Effectively sell adidas product in a manner that is consistent with the strategic business plan
• Maximize sustainable and quality sell-thru within the channel – drive the business
• Lead, inspire and enable the team to reach strategic business goals
• Set clear and measurable objectives for direct reports; assess and help develop their functional and soft skills; identify and help develop talent for career and leadership opportunities within the adidas Group
• Ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation, coaching and development.
• Cultivate a culture of performance, a strong leadership bench, and high performing, cross-functional teams.
• Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Thorough understanding of US market and retail environment
• Key Account Management experience
• P&L and/or Cost Center responsibility
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels within and outside of the adidas organization
• Strong and effective negotiations skills
• Proven track record of leading a business initiative to desired and profitable results
• Proven ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and remain flexible in high pressure or continually changing situations
• Ability to effectively and persuasively present to all levels within and outside of the adidas organization
• Winning attitude and PASSION FOR SPORT
Qualifications
1. BA or BS degree from a four-year college or university (or equivalent amount of relevant professional experience); MBA preferred
2. 8-10 years experience with sales or marketing management with a multinational consumer goods company, preferably in apparel, fashion, shoes or fast moving consumer goods
3. Minimum 2 years cross-functional management experience
4. Minimum 5 years experience managing a team
5. Must be willing to relocate
6. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales, margin or sell-through goals
7. Demonstrated ability to build, lead and inspire a high-performance team
