Director, SAP Data Management Lead
Department: Supply Chain Planning
Reports To: Vice President, Supply Chain Planning
Primary Location: East Rutherford, NJ

The SAP Data Management Lead will have a unique opportunity to establish a full lifecycle of data governance including the creation, maintenance, and quality of the global master data, and successful design and delivery of SAP Data Management solutions for Michael Kors. The Data management Lead will define strategies, develop and deliver solutions that enable the collection, processing and management of information, and the subsequent delivery of information to audiences in support of key business processes. This position provides leadership and oversight in creating and maintaining data objectives, policies, reporting/KPIs/score cards, and the feedback process to ensure consistently high service performance for the department, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
This position will lead the MDM Workstream as part of ERP Implementation to launch in mid-2018, and will be responsible for current state assessments to create a future state Master Data Management strategy, while keeping the themes of consolidate, modernize and simplifying the data architecture, to improve business efficiency and optimize business processes. The successful candidate will participate in multiple in-flight projects to drive appropriate alignment to Mater Data Management policies.
Role Description
Data Management Strategy
• Establish and rollout an enterprise-wide centralized data management vision and roadmap, data governance framework including data management direct and indirect organization, standards and policies for data integrity across all master data areas, business units, technologies, and geographies.
• Drive alignment on definitions, policies, business decisions and governance and enforcement of enterprise business rules for master data.
• Lead data migration activities including but not limited to data cleansing, data creation, data conversion, issue resolution, and data validation
Data Management Governance
• Develop measurable KPI’s to show success and progression of master data management capabilities.
• Define enterprise data management KPIs/metrics, reporting protocols, and action plans to monitor, track and report success and progression of master data management capabilities across all levels of organization.
• Ensure all key stakeholders are included in process design and development of MDM.
• Collaborate and maintain relationships with all key regulatory and compliance functions across the company. Bring together these groups for common solutions and controls across our enterprise data.
• Contribute a strong voice in enterprise business applications and data strategy discussions. Work across business and IT groups to get buy-in and help evolve toward a more cohesive plan.
Data Management Execution
• Lead the MDM Workstream for the business, including Business, IT and Consulting partners globally as part of the SAP ERP implementation to begin in mid-2018.
• Participate in other company-wide strategic projects and drive solutions that aligns with the data strategy and governance policies.
• Institute effective internal controls over sensitive and shared data where applicable.
• Establish data quality standards and lead data quality reviews and clean-up of legacy data as it relates to data migration.
• Monitor program timelines, milestones, and team progress to ensure objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and business results are realized.
• Determine impact of and address scope changes escalated by management and leadership teams and act as final point of approval for contingency plans and scope changes related to the master data management work stream.
• Ensure the global teams are continually trained in the new ways of working with Global Master Data Infrastructure.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and take corrective actions to address gaps.
• Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports to inspire high performance and professional growth.
Experience & Qualifications
You will have Global experience preferably in the Fashion Retail sector with most of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Supply Chain.
• Minimum of 10 years of master data management experience such as master data stewardship, quality management, governance, and process ownership
• Hands-on experience working with SAP MDG/Utopia modules and Master Data required.
• 5 years of Master or Reference data operational experience with expertise in implementing SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
• Exposure to Business Process Management tools and techniques preferred.
• Experience leading technical aspects of the delivery of SAP Business Intelligence (BI) solutions & related components, working across business/technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition & systems architecture for the organization.
• Experience working closely with Data Architects to ensure changes are appropriately synchronized with the metadata strategy and logical data model.
• Experience or knowledge in implementing or owning data & analytical platforms including and not limited to – data governance, metadata management tools, data quality platforms, and master data management platforms preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience managing key performance metrics and understanding their respective impact to business strategy.
