Calling all email enthusiasts! Warby Parker is looking for an Email Marketing Specialist to manage our customer-facing email program and oversee its daily operations. We’re seeking someone super-organized, proactive, and analytical who’s obsessed with both the art and science of email. In this role, you’ll be a key member of the Email and Retention team, using our emails to engage customers in original ways, garner data, drive revenue, and build loyalty and brand equity.
What you’ll do:
• Own our marketing email calendar, making updates and changes as needed and communicating them internally
• Manage the email creation process, from concepting to creative to development and deployment
• Produce creative briefs for upcoming emails, outlining goals, messaging, design considerations, any audience segmentation, and testing plans
• After briefing in each email, track/oversee the delivery of all necessary assets, including copy, design, and product selections
• Be the subject matter expert on our internal and external email platforms, serving as the point person for maintaining current vendor relationships and onboarding new vendors
• Become a “power user” of (/total expert at) our internal reporting tools, using retention and email metrics to drive a sophisticated segmentation strategy
• Analyze email performance, communicate results via weekly reports, and apply learnings to future campaigns
Who you are:
• The proud owner of a bachelor’s degree
• Backed by 2–4 years of professional marketing experience
• An experienced and detail-oriented email marketer with a creative *and* analytical mindset
• A quick learner with a genuine interest in improving our email performance through a data-driven approach
• An Excel pro (bonus points if you have a basic understanding of SQL)
• A self-starter who’s able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, take initiative, and work collaboratively to drive projects to completion
• A hard worker who loves solving problems and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• An excellent communicator—in person, online, via smoke signal—who loves to share findings and actionable insights
Extra credit:
• Basic proficiency with HTML (or a willingness to learn!)—you won't be coding from scratch, but you’ll occasionally need to look at code to troubleshoot layout issues or make copy updates
• Experience with JIRA or other project management tools
• Experience working with multiple ESPs and Movable Ink
About Warby Parker:
Warby Parker was founded in 2010 with a lofty objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price while leading the way for socially conscious businesses. By circumventing traditional channels and designing our frames in house, we’re able to offer insanely high-quality eyewear at decidedly non-insane prices (i.e., from $95 with prescription lenses—a fraction of the going price!).
In the last eight years, we’ve grown to over 60 retail locations in the U.S. and Canada, opened our first optical lab in upstate New York, and launched two of our own iOS apps. And for three years running, Fast Company has named us one of the world’s most innovative companies.
We also hold ourselves to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility. This means lots of different things, like operating carbon-neutrally and distributing a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair we sell. (We’re big believers that businesses can scale and be profitable while doing good in the world.)
Of course, all work and no play makes an extremely dull office, and no one likes an extremely dull office. (We sure don’t.) As an employee at Warby Parker, you can look forward to company outings, guest speakers, volunteering opportunities, and other brain- (and/or taste-bud-) stimulating activities. It also doesn’t hurt that our team is just great company.
Some benefits and perks of working at Warby Parker:
• Health, vision, and dental insurance
• Flexible “My Time” vacation policy
• Retirement savings plan with a company match
• Parental leave (non-birthing parents included)
• Cell phone plan reimbursement
• A health-and-wellness stipend
• Free eyewear (plus discounts for friends and family)
• And more (just ask!)
