As part of the global packaging department this role will work with R&D, consumer insights, brand marketing and packaging teams to support corporate strategic initiatives, create innovative packaging concepts and platforms, and identify and develop fast-growing retail channel packaging needs. A considerable part of this role will include working across all brands and product categories at the Estee Lauder Companies to create break-through innovation and speed to market solutions in Trial sized / Sampling products and experiences. This will involve leveraging both internal capabilities and external partners, accelerating the biggest opportunities in key markets, adopting new trends quickly – all by using a consumer-centric and benefit-driven approach. The candidate will need a strong background in package development, project management and be continually driven to innovate first-to-market solutions for prestige beauty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and support product market packaging trends, gaps, and innovative opportunities corporately & brand level
• Define and develop innovative concepts and product forms supporting category and brand needs
• Create innovative packaging concepts and platforms in tandem with packaging brand leads and present big ideas
• Develop and drive packaged product innovative business cases with brands for brand adoption and sponsorship
• Present and share big ideas across the corporation; brand partners, cross-functional partners, and senior stakeholders
• Lead special corporate projects – supporting strategic initiates
• Collaborate with a diverse range of functional teams both branded and category
• Identify barriers to innovation and provides possible solutions to remove obstacles
• Direct and indirect management of internal teams and external suppliers and resources – every day leader
• Project manage multiple programs at any given time and provide frequent updates to relevant stakeholders
• Create, validate, and analyze 3D designs, pilot tooling and in-marketing consumer testing
• Manage package-project testing plans and create new processes where needed to ensure superior function and quality
• Protect intellectual property; adept in the review of patents, establish NDAs, create patents, and support strategic supplier relationships
• Fuel upstream innovation by partnering with consumer insight teams and generating new packaging opportunities

Qualifications:
• BS or MS degree in Package Engineering, Industrial Design, or other related engineering fields
• Experience in the cosmetics or personal care industry preferred
• Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

Add’l Job Specifications
• Education: Minimum BS degree in Packaging Science or Engineering
• Direct Experience: 8+ years’ experience in consumer product package development. Preferably prestige brand marketing and cosmetic experience with concentrations across makeup, skincare, fragrance, and promotional
• Demonstrated creative thinker with the ability to articulate and execute new ideas successfully
• Strong collaborator with internal and external teams and resources
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks
