Senior Manager Merchandising, Soccer-Footwear & Hard Goods
Purpose
• Develop US soccer business strategy to achieve footwear market leader position through net sales, net margin, inventory, and SKU productivity for assigned category.
• Drive relevant portions of annual and seasonal business plans on appropriate timelines with both global product groups and U.S. marketing and sales groups.
• Develop the Go-To-Market strategy from brief through range launch for the soccer business unit.
• Manage inventory across multiple stock category goals by maintaining buying controls and close out releases.
• Prepare the line for go to market excellence, including catalogue and web text maintenance.
• Ensure category strategic business plan and strategic account plans are met.
• Build range assortment and merchandising by channels and accounts from merchandising tools to catalogs and floor plans, which give clear product direction and information to the operational departments.
• Collaborate with the Category Director to develop footwear and hard good initiatives in order to meet key commercial goals. Drive end-to-end initiatives through to all departments.
• Implement activation plans to drive authentic stories with sports marketing and brand marketing. Build portfolio of contacts in own retail, soccer specialty, and key accounts to maintain trend and product awareness. Present ranges internally and externally to key retailers.
• Identify products that drive mindshare to increase soccer relevance in the US market and maximize market share by managing profitability/productivity.
• Present findings to the Category Director in a clear and concise format.
• Communicate the pricing strategies for the assortment to the Category Director to ensure we meet the global strategy as well as the targeted channel segment.
• Manage the Go-To-Market process with effective communication and action steps in order to achieve margin, profitability, and inventory.
• Work with the Sales Manager and Concept to Consumer Directors to achieve goals by channel by account.
• Manage end-to-end business models/supply chain solutions to obtain greater profit and cash flow, by channel, by key accounts.
Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration or Marketing, and four (4) years of experience in a related position.
2. Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Six (6) years of experience in a related position.
3. Work experience must have included: experience monitoring market trends and creating marketing strategy for the soccer industry; experience analyzing net sales and margin; creation and delivery of sales presentations.
